These metaphors are driving me crazy. Bottom line, people need to be just a little more realistic.

Islands of Adventure announces they are bringing to life the World of Harry Potter which includes a recreation of the Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade. It is to be "One of the most widely anticipated theme park entertainment experiences ever created." After it has been created and opened up to the public, record breaking crowd capacity and plenty of money rolling in and continues to be successful and crowded. People from all over the world are dying to get into Harry Potter in which they may not even see it until 3 years from now. So what your trying to say is, Universal is just going to be greedy and stupid and expand it over to the Lost Continent? I don't think so.

Please tell me, has any other theme park that opened a franchise land expand it due to crowds and popularity JUST to make more money? Because they are a "company"? No. Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom could be filled with many many magical attractions of the world's beloved Disney movies that could draw in crowds. Look how long it's taken them to finally do it. Harry Potter has never been created before, and that is why it is so popular. People have literlly no idea about anything, they hear that it's Hogwarts and they run to Orlando. Is that a bad thing? No. But Universal is not going to expand it for the sake of getting more money. Get real.

That is absolutely incorrect. Obvious reasons, for anyone who has ever stepped a foot in Magic Kingdom.

I'm sorry, it sounds as if your implying a company doesn't keep trying to make money? They ARE greedy. It would NOT be stupid, because Harry Potter is what draws people in! Is an expansion going to happen within the next two years? Probably not. But it WILL happen eventually, more than likely when the crowds die down. They want MORE of what Potter's been giving them. Of course they won't expand it right away. But they will expand it, because A. It makes too much money to ignore, and B. The Lost Continent is bypassed by almost every tourist there. Stop clinging it to your chest because you love the LC, honestly. Teebin has already said they are in Blue Sky Stage plans, which means it IS in consideration whether you like it or not. And really, there are many other attractions based on things that "hadn't been real before". The point is, Harry Potter has surpassed those. Once again, it comes back to questioning the staying power.

Exactly Mitchiez.

Maybe even some creative changes in shows that keep things fresh or the addtions of characteristics like classes from the books and films.

In the future we will see creative additions and business moves I have no doubt. Hard Ticketed events like Night of a Thousand Wizards that was already put on as well as celebrity weekend deals and conventions as well as holiday ventures. Starting a tradition like that makes way more money than adding one smaller attraction anyway.

Not from tourists. And repeat visitors. Right now, they are looking at the Potter fans. Night of a Thousand Wizards is all but confirmed to become an annual event. But Potter fans, along with the general public would absolutely LOVE more to the Wizarding World. You are calling us spoiled theme park brats. But your hanging on to your nostalgic LC. As said before, we're taking ourselves out of the equation, and looking at it this way, it makes sense. It would bring in much more money. Tourists wouldn't complain as you seem to think. I don't see how you correlate expanding Potter to catching too many fish and letting them go to waste, because Potter would continue to draw people, and then, once the crowds started to decline, an expansion would get them right back there.

I am not by all means, "clinging" to my chest because I love the LC. I'll tell you the damned truth, that I personally do not like the Lost Continent. I think it's the weakest area of the park in terms of attractions and entertainment, but the design and look of the area is acceptable for a Theme Park. I don't like Sinbad, and I don't like Poseidon. But I'm trying to be realistic here, and if you don't realize it then it's because your not Universal Studios.

The Lost Continent makes as much money as all the other lands (excluding Potter). Maybe you don't see it right in front of your face because you go into IOA with Potter frenzy and by pass it, but it is a treasured jewel in terms of Potter being here. Families who have to wait in line decide that they would like to eat at the Firewood Grill or get reservations for Mytho's. There are plenty of interesting shops are there, and of course even if the carnival games don't fit in with the theming, plenty of little kids are begging their parents to play them. You say there is a lot of Potter stuff that could be added to WWoHP, but from what I've read I can't see it fitting in anywhere with the current lay out/I don't see JK Rowling approving it either. They're not going to put in a Diagon Alley where a Hogsmeade (which already has most of Diagon Alley's shops) is already there. The Lost Continent is pretty big to just be swallowed by Harry Potter. Tell me, how is the cuisine at Mytho's going to fit in with Potter? It's not. Your saying they're going to get rid of The Best Theme Park Resturant for how many years? JUST to make money? Get rid of the well made LC just to make a little less then HALF of the theme park Potter? Seriously? You guys don't realize that after the Potter frenzy dies down, The Lost Continent won't be ignored as much as it is now. I've talked to many tourists who have enjoyed The Lost Continent... just becuase repeat vistors and long time Florida residents don't really care for it (including myself) doesn't mean that new visitors won't enjoy it.

I am just being realistic here. You are all correct, Universal is company. But they are a smart company.

You wasted a lost of typing. I am not a Lost Continent fan to where I would be too distraught over it leaving. Never said anything like that. Just a realist. I said in my post annual events were all but confirmed and will likely take place in the future and grow. Please read my posts before posting.

As far as the insane fish comparison. That was putting it in terms of spreading the love. You don't rush to spend money if you are already going to make it anyway. People are coming from what is there now. The time to add on will be a little later when the initial hype has died down...which will be years.

I agree with that. I don't think it will happen right now, it will be in a few years once it's all died down. And I agree on spreading the wealth to the other islands. But I do think Potter is the new baby and it will be spoiled with the money xD...

It wouldn't work fine. It would be a disaster. You have to know that I am a major Harry Potter fan, and I dislike the LC. So why would I be so stubborn as to not agree? Because I'm being realistic and actually thinking things out. I've actually considered how they would replace LC with Harry Potter, and I don't see any possible accommodations that look like it would be believable and JKR approved. LC is making plenty of money as the other lands in IOA are. Like I said, you're not Universal. They are the ones who really know how much dough is coming from LC.

Ollivanders is not the only thing from Diagon Alley. A Few of the shop fronts are shops that are in Diagon Alley are in Hogsmeade.

I am not even saying spread the wealth to the other islands and around the resort (although I sure hope so) I am saying if and when touches and events happens to Potter, you have to spread it out. if a studio rushes a sequel that has already been made to theaters just because the first one is a hit less than three months later, they are likely to lose a lot of money. You have to get the masses to visit for years before giving them something to want to pay for again.

Yes but I think we all agree, most things are a little bit different with Potter. But I think it will take at least a few years for an expansion because it's still very big. Once crowds start to decline, that's when we'll get the "Diagon Alley! Only at the WWoHP at Universal Studios"...

Universal and JKR will not be stupid enough to build Diagon Alley right next to Hogsmeade, no matter how good the transition is.

Alright, well as a side note, I was in the park today. Hulk was at a 70, Spiderman at a 70. I did Doom's single rider, got on in 5 minutes, Spidy's single rider, got on in 15. There was a wait to get into WWOHP, which I didn't think there would be today.

Went to the other park, Rockit posted a 45, waited 20 in singles. Mummy posted a 25, waited a 5 in singles. Men in Black posted a 30, waited 2 minutes in singles. Both parks were a lot more crowded that I thought they'd be.

And neither are you. So you don't know how much money it's making either. Therefore you don't know that it's making just as much money.

Alright, give me one. We have some things that are like the shops in theme/merch, but there is only one shop that I know of from Diagon Alley. Tell me another.

In the sixth movie, the crooked stack of cauldrons that appears in the WW appears in Diagon Alley.

Oh, alright. So a prop counts? Or if your referring to the shop - a facade that makes absolutely no money?

I was simply answering your question. But I do believe that implies Universal, by including multiple Diagon Alley elements, Ollivander's, props, merchandise, never intended to include Diagon Alley in the island.

Thank you mantaguy. Everyone's ideas are great, but with the current layout of WWoHP, there's nothing that would be acceptable to JK Rowling... As for your Shop Fronts, Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment, Potage's Cauldron Shop, Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop, and Ollivanders are all from Diagon Alley.

I honestly cant see anything really changing in potter, they would have to remodel & move around alot of stuff just to make it work..... idk i don't see much of a part 2 coming in the future. I just cant see how the layout will work, cause everything has to be like it is in the books.

Changing Mythos isn't that easy my friend. It wasn't named Best Theme Park Restaurant for how many years for nothing, and to see it changed to something Harry Potter themed would SUCK for everyone that knows and loves Mythos. It's basically the best thing that LC can offer IMO.

What the heck, guys? So much bickering... :bang: WHY?

Here's what it all boils down to: Universal will either change/expand it or they won't. THE END! Look! So simple. Nothing to argue about. Discuss? Yes, of course. It's fun to speculate on what possible expansions could be (even if they're impossible). Argue? Yeah. Me thinks not.
