Just release a good AP already!!! They need to accept that they really aren't getting the attendance they hope and expected. Release a pass that is really worth it

Christie Digital has officially partnered with Universal Park's and Resorts for delivering the latest in Projection based technology.

Cypress, CA, USA (July 19, 2016) – Universal Parks & Resorts has entered into a corporate partnership agreement with Christie®, which will see Christie delivering the latest projection technologies to Universal Parks & Resorts as the Official Projection System Provider. The agreement includes Universal Parks & Resorts’ Theme Parks and CityWalk complexes throughout the United States.

As a Universal Parks & Resorts corporate partner, Christie will be the preferred partner for projectors ordered, purchased, and installed by Universal Parks & Resorts at all domestic controlled venues. Christie will also supply software and professional services in addition to projection technology to Universal Parks & Resorts, helping create customized projection solutions for future attractions.

“Universal Parks & Resorts continues to push the limits of technology and innovation, and Christie is honored to have this long-term opportunity to bring its extensive technology and service resources to bear to support the Universal Parks & Resorts’ Theme Parks and CityWalk venues,” said Jeff Klaas, Christie’s Vice President of Sales – Americas.

@Alexshow. Could this be a possible sign of more simulators in the near future?

I wouldn't go and assume that as the possible sign of that, but I think the partnership should pose some interesting scenarios.

Maybe. Each major theme park has a preference for certain manufacturers, but this agreement seems to solidify Universal's choice to give preference to Christie whenever possible.

Personally, I also think that it's going to give them the possibility to upgrade other projectors for various other forms around both UOR and USH in some fashion.

Christie is some of the best in the industry, and it makes sense to get them on board for the parks that isn't just for new attractions.

Did Transformers get projections upgraded a while back, or no?

There's lots of projectors in these parks, and eventually some are gonna have to be replaced. Now it'll be Christie no matter what.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is Simpsons still shown via Sony projectors like it was when it first debuted?

They are also adding a Kubo "behind the scenes" trailer to the Special Effects Show. And replacing SLoP with a "Sing" trailer.

Universal now has signs up to hill with each different characters saying hello and bye on the way down. I wasn't able to take any pictures, but it had The Simpsons,Shrek, Despicable Me, Transformers, Jurrasic Park, and Harry Potter each with saying different hellos and byes. For example The Simpsons say "welcome families" and Harry on the hill down farewells wizards, witches, and muggles.

Hmm, it seems like they are doing something similar to what Universal Orlando Does on the bridges that you walk to USF and IOA, but on Lankershim Hill..

IU posted a photo of this:

Which is nearly identical (color aside and portrait framing aside) to the USF ones...

Definitely some brand-merging here, and Orlando is definitely the model. I don't think that the globe will be turned into the same multi-colored one out in Florida, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the arch font changed eventually.

I'd think the globe and the arch would be here to stay as they're uniquely Hollywood and fit the Spanish-style architecture of the early movie studio (though the arch is in dire need of a refurb).
