Honestly though, I think it will be soundstage box buidling, just like the building that was there before, and I think the entrance and facade will be facing towards the lagoon.

When the previous attractions were there, the queue line was on the lagoon side and the door you went inside was on the Shrek Alley side.

I think with the entrance facing the lagoon it makes it easy to get in and out, and helps disperse foot traffic evenly. No crowds on the Shrek Alley side or NYC side, but in front of it when its dead is good.

I don't think we'll see anything major on the Shrek side because that would make Shrek's soundstage stand out in a bad way. Which side of the building was the Her and Zena entrance on? I'm guessing lagoon side but that seems awkward to have people wrap around the building to get in. Also it's not the way you want to put a featured attraction. The entrance needs to be visible as people start moving into the park.

If they demolished the Monsters cafe with SS44, they could make the entrance across from the concert stage. Universal does use the top for the control center of the concerts, but it would make more sense putting the entrance there.

They've said they weren't going to be demolishing Monsters.

Of course, they also said they weren't demolishing the entire SS44 either...

But I'd rather see Monsters become "Energon Cafe" or something like that anyway.

I think Monsters will stay in some form, and they'll direct the traffic to the entrance by the lagoon. Shrek Alley would be a mess with the people exiting from it running into the people flowing to TF. (Or am I remembering wrong where Shrek lets out?)

I like the idea with the Autobots crawling out of the "building". I really dont want either facade from either park, be different! But the idea (i forget who posted) that had the multiple buildings posted around the SS I like as well!

The exit will be towards the NYC side for sure, or also facing the lagoon which I believe is the case in USH right now, entrance and exit are pretty close to each other.

The exit of Shrek is the alleyway where SS44 used to be, so no youre right!

I'm happy you get to say you told us so! Even if I'm new and wasn't around when you did  .

I met Bill Davis once, he came up to me and I recognized his Debit Card as being UOR branded; I asked him what was going on and he let me know that the executives are going through the parks not as executives or secret shoppers, but as guests. They're going incognito not as a big ol "GOTCHA" to employees but as a way to see what guests go through from parking in the garage, to buying the tickets, to going through the turnstiles.

When I found this out, I was absolutely floored that the people running the resort are actually getting their hands dirty to see what it's like to visit it and spend a day there. I'm incredibly proud to work for this company, and I will safely say I drink the kool-aid

Bill Davis frequently comes to the parks as a guest, and I must say, he's a great guy-always nice to everyone he comes in contact with, and never pulls the "I'm a big exec" thing with anyone-he just hangs out like anyone else.

I, too, am proud to work there. I LOVE the Cinematic Spectacular, LOVE IT, and so happy to see all the wonderful improvements going on in the park, including knocking down SS44 and putting whatever in it. And let's not forget that we all got a raise last year right after Comcast took over.

Exactly, he didn't pull that when I spoke with him, he just seemed like a legitimately great guy.

I'm kinda hoping for the same thing to happen again this year with the raise, since apparently universal has to get rid of a lot of money quickly

It's an awkward placement. It needs a grand facade or a weenie of some kind, else it will have the same issues that plague T23D.

I think that the different facades would look stupid! I am hoping for a "government" type looking building that is a mix between soundstage and nest look.

I meant to ask, where are we getting this from? Is this some document that isn't public? I don't recall ever seeing the justification, a friend asked me to cite my source so I want to do my due diligence.

They are state, county, and city permit departments. If you see grading drawings posted then it is most likely state water management. County permits are land use oriented and finally, City issues the actual building permits. The documents are found online and in some cases, it is tedious work to parse through them. ReelJustice is doing this website a real service!

What if.... What if... The entrance and queue will simply utilize the monsters cafe building?

Understood, but I know we've had pictures of permits before, I imagine this wouldn't be too difficult for those who know what website to go to.

Here is the easiest one to navigate:

http://or.occompt.com/recorder/web/login.jsp

Enter into the top first name field, "Universal City Development", set a date range and SEARCH.

Again, the "Health & Human Services" facility from Dark of the Moon would fit perfectly for a facade.

Thanks Teebin!

All I found recently was the $10 payment of a lien on the Spongebob Store property, which seems odd, but whatever.

Haha, that was incorrect spelling, but after searching every doc I don't think it shows up anymore or I just can't find it.

Set at least a 30 day range... a week can go by with nothing. Also, there is a checkbox on the search page. What we select from the resulting listings is "Notice of Commencement"

Theme-parks like all big corporations are always involved in some legal fuss, and that is what you saw with Spongebob.

Why are you speaking of elevators bobwadd? I said nothing of elevators. I was merely offering a maybe to the possibility of big heavy complicated steel tube like appliances. Please don't jump to conclusions.

What, don't two story restaurants need elevators :P
