just means the props need to be far enough away from the road for vehicles to pass through, and using areas that aren't on the parade route for more claustrophobic zones...

last year "Seven" was wide enough for vehicles to pass through in Hollywood... So was acid in new york...

Would it be possible to do a truncated parade route during HHN time? The crowds will be lighter during the day then.

^ Yeah, I saw it, otherwise I would not have asked about it. I don't take pictures of service gates as a general rule, so I don't know what the old looked like. Is that wider?

The May Times and Information Guide came out today. In case it wasn't mentioned already, there are only 4 floats in the parade. Despicable Me, SpongeBob, Dora & Diego, and Hop. Here's the logo:

I find it rather upsetting that the parade will only have 4 floats, and Universal still calls it the "Superstar" parade. Where's my classic monsters float?

I completely agree with Ryan. I'm normally fairly unimpressed with the amount of floats at Macy's and that's triple the amount that this parade has. Hell, you can barely even call it a parade. At least sprinkle in the float Shrek stands on in the holiday parade and the cartoon character float that always has Woody standing in it.

Hopfully down the road it will cater to younger and older like having a Jaws float maby ET or Jusassic Park but I don't think so..wishfull thinking
