That would ruin the vibe of the parade since Blues Brothers is R and BTTF would be PG-13 by today's standards
Having the cars drive by with some instrumental music from their films would be rated G... all the cars would do is drive by in between floats

the Super Star Parade thread is closed F.Y.I :lock1:

So today the parade broke down, the sponge-bob float broke down and they could not move it, they sent all performers backstage and caused a halt in the parade,it then stop playing music i do not know if the parade was cancelled or if they moved it at all. Universal says it does not know what happened

Happens all the time at parks. That's why Disney has 2 tow motors ready during every parade to tow floats away at a moments notice.

So are the rumors of SSP seeing new content for the 25th coming from any legit source, or just hopeful buzz?

It makes sense they would add to/update/replace the Superstar Parade for 2015. Two years is about the expected life for any parade in a theme park. Between themes falling out of favor (Hop?) and the physical wear and tear on the floats it just makes sense to update or replace parts or all of it. Plus a special updated version of the parade would be a fitting way to celebrate a quarter century of Universal Orlando.

Jammin Jungle is 12+ years old and still going strong. The day parade at MK lasted almost 5 years before ending it. As long as the parade proves to be popular with guests they'll stick around for awhile before updating them.

I'm close to this, and if anything I could see a new float or two with maybe the removal of one float. The one I'm real curious about is a new Night Show for 2015.

i agree. while only 1 disney park is running a day time parade universal should use this leverage to upgrade their current parade with a simpsons float, please not that RV mobile meet and greet thing, and add in another well known IP like ice age. OR make nice with dreamworks and throw in some dragons!

Jammin' Jungle is 12 years old and most of the parades at Disney are old as well, but Disney fans by and large are idiots who love sitting through the same crappy parade over and over. Any other park has to update its entertainment offerings every few years to stay fresh. The cheapness and laziness of TDO is not the example for any park to follow.

I dunno how long it has to run to be considered "profitable", especially considering it doesn't directly make any money, but I find it depressing that the only parades on Disney property right now are MJJ and MSE. MJJ is underwhelming, and MSE is just obnoxious. It doesn't help that I'm not a big fan of walk-and-waves.

Disney caters to a more tourist-centric audience who don't come frequently. Even if you were to assume that the majority of guests at Disney came once a year, seeing the same parade just once a year doesn't really lose its novelty. Universal, which hosts more locals/repeat/casual visitors, has to stay fresher than Disney does. Although I'm sure the out-of-town once-in-a-lifetime guests appreciate being called idiots

No, the idiots I'm referring to are the fans (more like groupies) who watch the damn parade over and over and even know the performers.

Just add in Simpsons, Transformers and replace the Hop float with a 25th anniversary one (featuring Jaws, BTTF, E.T., etc)

Those "groupies" more times than not used to actually be performers. I know where those people are located normally at MK especially, but normally those are former performers.
