AM I the only one pleasantly surprised with the parade? Yeah I know it's only 4 BIG floats, but they have a whole lot of little mini floats and a lot of neatly dispersed side performers. Not to mention these floats aren't cheaply constructed Mardi Gra floats, these are full fledged, bad ass movie set quality floats. That video completely changed my tune on the parade and I think with a few more floats (Woody Woodpecker, Barney, more Nick characters, Marvel superheroes are all options) this parade could be a fantastic addition to the park.

So the parade is 8 minutes long? Is that... the shortest in theme park history? lol

That would go to Countdown to Fun.

The problem is that the floats move a little quickly and the stops were a little too long, apparently theres even more that he cut out of the video because it was awkward. And the whole lack of floats thing. But you're right, the floats do look amazing.

Totally agree with you!
I was expecting much less, but the mini floats and performers really add to the parade. I didn't even notice the stilt walkers were part of the Spongebob float until they stood up!

The world parade in the title is a little misleading. It's more of a show than a parade. That's why it travels a little fast to get to the next stop.

Most definitely. My reaction to that parade was "Oh look here comes the- Oh, nevermind, it's over." However, like this parade, it has decent floats.

I can definitely see a new float or two in the next year or so. I'd love to see some classic properties, like JP or ET. And you can never go wrong with some classic monsters.

As an old family friend used to say, "It's a staht!" When they all get more accustomed, the between performers need to zig zag more so that each side is constantly seeing a new face, including bikes and mini floats. Disney has this down pat.

This is the first preview. There is a lot more happening with this thing. From what I hear each unit will be performing several different mini shows all day long throughout the park. Which means a lot more to come. If that's true this would be a great button on the day. I was there and saw both parade stops. The sponge bob section in my opinion had the least going on. My favorite units to watch were the Dispicable Me unit and the Dora and Diego unit. They both had top notch dancing. There's also several aerial acts you don't see on the video because the camera wasn't in the best location. There's a really cool silk act behind the Sponge Bob float. The have a really cool pogo stick act during the Hop section. EB from Hop actually has a full drum kit and is playing the whole time. The stilt walkers dance and do a lot of cool tricks. The drum line comes off the float and does some really awesome drum battle thing. On the Dora float there is a trampoline and acrobatic stunt act. You have to see this thing in person because the video doesn't give you the full effect of everything that's going on. And it's really edited down. During the show stop each unit has a feature section while the others units support whats going on. You almost have to watch this a couple times from different spots to see it all. I remember on the announcement video they said this is more of a traveling show than a parade. They are right about that. I also did notice some of the new speaker system not completely working. The sound you hear in the video is coming out of the floats but I was standing right next to one of the new speakers on the buildings and it wasn't on. They must still be working on that technical aspect of the show. But hey, that's what previews are for. To see what works and what doesn't.

More floats are needed to make the parade longer, more enjoyable, more entertaining and all around better. They could borrow float ideas from Universal Studios Singapore as seen in the following two videos:

We were able to catch the parade, with tons and tons and tons of pics. The parade stops twice, once in New York once Despicable Me hits Mummy and then again when it hits Mel's. Each stop lasts three minutes. There will also be several mini shows throughout the day More info

The parade?? it needs to be longer it was like 15min. long I really was not impressed..the floats looked really cool but I don't see the point of the HOP float it's an Easter movie..Why have an Easter float permently part of the parade, I think that float would be more seasonal. They said they are going to have daily meet and greets with the characters and some float will be with the characters??? I have a feeling this is going to disrupt UOR during the day with swarms of little kids in random areas of the park. And this really can't have the title a Parade until it gets more floats which I see happening in the near future. Honestly I wish the parade was 100% different catering to the younger and older audiences..yes having SpongeBob and stuff but maby a Jurassic Park, ET or even a float celebrating the 100 years..for me it was disappointing and have no desire to see it again.

^Great vid! :rep:

Does it appears that you get stuck with a show segment based on where you choose to watch from?

I love that they use an instrumental version of "Party Rock Anthem" in parade.

Celebrate a Dream Come True is the exact same length. I timed it today.

I just read that this parade actually starts at the service gate next to beetlejuice and then exits next to the make up show. Sooo, this means they are driving those floats all the way around MIB and Amity backstage to begin the parade. Completely different from how they have done parades in the past...?

Universal's parade was the perfect length of time for me personally...I hate long and drawn out parades Tapestry of Nations although awesome was painfully long (nearly 25 30 min)...while I do not agree with some of the float choices I do think that kids are going to eat this parade up... apparently their will also be more confetti when the show is up and running..

Also please note that the soundtrack currently used is not the final soundtrack. The final soundtrack has dialogue and lyrics.
