Those "groupies" more times than not used to actually be performers. I know where those people are located normally at MK especially, but normally those are former performers.

Exactly. Or they're just happy to be there and enjoy parades. Ive seen Goodfellas a zillion times, and I love it each time. The idiots comment was ignorant.

Am I the only one that loves jammin' jungle? It is so interestingly odd and fun and the designs wild yet brilliant and fun. I always stop and watch.

The maple sugar candy with chocolate and sugar sprinkles on top at the MK, on the other hand, is to be dead for. It leaves me colder than a snow seal pup with a club through its brains.

Sorry, I get edgy this time of night. :look:

If you're talking about the Celebrate A Dream Come True parade, then you're in luck as it's gone and being replaced by what looks to be a pretty impressive new parade.

Some small floats have been removed, the butterflies that used to be after the Dora float are now gone, and the jellyfish ones at the spongebob unit are gone

Great. Minimize what's currently there and add like four new floats.

Those floats have been gone for a long time; the jellyfish ones left I think less than a year after the parade started (the parade was 3 years old in May), and the butterfly bikes have been gone for probably a year.

Not sure if this has been posted here...but the Singapore Chinese New Year parade is incredible! Look at that T-REX!!!! They should do this as a year round parade in Orlando. Honestly, this will get people to line up!

I had to post. Little things like that truly make my day at Universal, even if they are dumb fads.

I heard a rumor that changes may be coming. Anyone have any details?

Instead of a Universal Great Movie Ride, it would be so awesome to have a '100 years of Universal' Parade be the replacement for Superstar. So much to pick from in terms of float and costumed character ideas.

Bye bye Hop. I dunno what will replace it or what effect it will have on the rest of the parade, but my guess would be Secret Life of Pets, and I hope they were smart enough when recording the parade audio to allow for a smooth replacement of any particular unit.
Hop had a lot of fun gimmicks, but at the end of the day, it was not a strong IP.

Do you think with the Dreamworks aquisition we could see the Nickleodeon properties replaced at some point also?

If the Sing songs end up popular, possibly a few of them would be my guess. Kind of a perfect fit, especially since Universal will own the rights to the original songs.

Spongebob is such a strong IP, it doesn't strike me as something they would get rid of. That said, now that Dreamworks can be used freely, I could definitely see them taking advantage of that. Shrek would fit the feel of the parade well enough, and, while less appropriate for what the parade is currently, How to Train Your Dragon is showing some lasting effect. I hope they give the franchise a nice booster shot soon. Madagascar, while not my favorite, would also fit seamlessly.

Another great theory. That would fit well with the remaining units.

Screamscape is reporting on the rumor of Hop being replaced in the parade. I can live without the float and the bunnies, but they need to keep the drum line and the lollipop girls. :)

The parade is too short. Add a unit don't replace. And record a custom soundtrack instead of the stuff we have now. Maybe give it a more creative name too..

The parade just sucks compared to Japan and Singapore.

They still need to remove Hop. It's a dated and overall unsuccessful film, so plugging it in a theme park parade 6 years later is silly. It'd be like if Disney had a parade float for Chicken Little still running today.

But yeah, other than Hop (and I'd argue Dora the Explorer/Diego should go too...), we should just get additions. Pets, Sing, Shrek, Madagascar, Dragons, Kung Fu Panda, Hello Kitty, Nintendo, and even Simpsons would all be good choices.

Screamscape is saying their sources point to SLoP coming to the parade.

Yeh, the parade is short but they get a lot of miles out of it bringing the floats out one by one in front of the Horror and Makeup theater. I see guests (especially kids) get a lot of fun out of Hop. Sure the movie wasn't a hit but the kids seemingly don't care.

I'm thinking HTTYD will be going into the parade. Remember the picture of the Dreamworks characters? Toothless was there and everybody was surprised because a costume was made for a property with no concrete plans.

Well, it looks like something has opened up...
