Yeah, that was posted sometime back. I was referring to something else that confused me... but the combo of the this and something else answers my question. :look:

Why would it be a Olivander's type attraction? Olivander's in the canon has a unique experience. Buying a wand which chooses the wizard. That's an experience. Borgin and Burkes is the equivalent of an antique shop. What unique personal experience does an antique shop offer? When people go to Oli's its because the wandmaster may choose them and the wand "chooses" them. Guests dig that. There's no way to really do that on a personal level with B&B. B&B is more likely to be a walkthrough store with effects going on out of reach instead of a cycling show. They are apples and oranges and have to be treated as such.

He means that it will be a show-type attraction and not a store or a ride. Olivanders is a show-type attraction. B&B looks like it could be a show-type attraction, where you walk through the store and actors guide you and effects go off, just like in Olivanders.

Building 65A has been classified as a "mercantile" and is getting an acoustic ceiling system.

Building 235 (Hogsmeade Station) was issued yesterday.
Building 64E (Platform 9 3/4) and 64D (Borgin and Burkes?) was issued as well.

I still think 64D is the Weasleys' shop given its location in the movies… I would think Borgin and Burkes wouldn't be on the main street because it's such a sketchy place. Maybe Building 65? In the movies, it was down Knockturn Alley (a side street off of Diagon Alley).

Sorry if I came off crass, it wasn't the intention. I just realized in retrospect it could've been seen as snide or condescending.

It just doesn't feel like a good fit for B&B. I see it as more of a store with a few novelty items and some effects. It just doesn't have the narrative for a show.

Its a possibility. Its difficult to tell because the facadework will be very different than what we see right now. But I would like to see that consistency.

I would think JKR wouldn't let it happen any other way… but maybe that's just my wishes clouding my judgement :embarassed:

So someone please enlighten me as to what's going on.

We have Gringott's
We have HE
We have B&B (what movie is that in?)
Was there speak of another attraction?

Hey all, would the B & B attraction be doable for someone who knows little to nothing about Harry Potter?

I have read the books a lot and I don't remember the shop being that large, but hey, it's Universal and doable is their speciality. Maybe we will go behind the counter to the back of the shop or possibly the vanishing cabinet takes us to the Room of Requirement?

- - - Updated - - -

sorry, I read that in the wrong context. I am pretty sure it will be like phase 1 where even if you don't know/like Potter, it will be enjoyable and mostly understandable (FJ didn't make sense to fans either).

I don't mean a typical show, but a walk-through attraction with show elements in the form of effects, actor(s), etc. It would be a tour of the store; we explore and learn about the darker side of the Wizarding World and experience some cool items and effects. Would work for me!

I would expect the spirit and the look to be there, but as they have taken creative license before, I wouldn't be surprised to see some creative license in the placement and inclusion of certain things, to make the theme park experience and flow smoother.

Here's a rough sketching of where I think everything will be, from the existing map. (Obviously not all figured out by me, but from all the info gathered here in OU!) And notice my areas of confusion (?)

Borgin and Burkes was in Chamber of Secrets and The Half-Blood Prince.

As for "another attraction", the understanding was always the train, Gringotts, and a walkthrough. I think most of us assumed, that would be WWW. Now, it looks like either WWW or B&B is the walkthrough. And, I'm further assuming 64D is the walkthrough because of the size of it. Also, Ollivanders is probably 65.

Pretty sure 65 and 65A are in this picture:

Quick question, don't mean to shift topics, but when summer 2013 rolls around how much of this thing do you think will be visibly accomplished? I'm thinking we'll be seeing steel and the bare bones of structures but nothing else. I'm hoping the HE will have some track work done by then so I can see for myself; I'm heading home to Orlando in June that's why I ask:happy:

So when Olivanders opens on the USF side, what happens to the original Olivanders in IOA?

I would be less surprised if I grew a second head than I would be if they closed a money maker like Ollivander's in Islands of Adventure.
