I have read the books a lot and I don't remember the shop being that large, but hey, it's Universal and doable is their speciality. Maybe we will go behind the counter to the back of the shop or possibly the vanishing cabinet takes us to the Room of Requirement?

It still isn't the right fit for a theme park despite what we want. Olivander has a set experience which is done on a personal level each show. But you can't do the Room of Requirement. The RoR is the loading platform at Forbidden Journey. Gotta watch those queue videoes man!

So when Olivanders opens on the USF side, what happens to the original Olivanders in IOA?

It stays open. They won't get rid of it.

If B&B does happen, and it is show heavy, they'll have learned from their mistake with Ollivanders and have atleast two shows going at any given time. They might also do it kind of like a conga line or like Enchanted Tales. Where you're brought into separate scenes to keep capacity and show flowing. My guess as far as crowd flow would be a combo of the 2. A dual sided, 2 scene experience. A pre-show in a foyer, and then the actual store area, with a gift shop as a rider. That yields much higher capacity.

If nothing else the stores will probably have bigger floorspaces than Olivanders. For example, if they went with WWW that shop is depicated as much larger in the books and movies and can hold a larger number of guests than Olivander's could.

Personally, I want WWW to be the walkthrough in 64D. UC could do much more with a joke shop than a Dark Arts shop IMO.

ETA: I can't wait until later for the choppa pics!:happy::sneaky:

Not trying to nitpick here, but that would be a total mistake if they are truly trying to replicate the Wizarding World.

I disagree. J.K. said it was feasible to have a Hogsmeade Branch, so it would make sense in her world that there were two.

Quite possible they may turn it into a retail store and move the Ollivander's experience next door. Maybe the IOA Ollivander's (when moved) would sell wands and still have that "feel" to it but the actual wand choosing would be at USF

I can see that. The wand shop as it currently is is REALLY small and even on lesser crowded days, it you have to fight to get through there. An expansion of that while keeping theme would be nice.

I think they have to, and will, learn from the Ovilanders capacity missteps. Experiences like those are a new found gold mine, and they're still getting the kinks out. Look at the difference between RSR and Test Track. The same experience can be executed on a whole different level after learning what didn't work the first time.

Again, nobody is saying this will be Ollivander's. What were saying is that it would a be a show type attraction.

I have watched FJ videos more than I would like to admit :look:. That was just a spare of the moment idea I had because the main purpose of Borgin and Burkes in the films was to get into the Room of Requirement in its storage/hidden items form via vanishing cabinet. The FJ queue has it in its DA/Great Hall form.

Before we get started I want to take a second to vent. Briman and I "Got to the Choppa" around 2PM. We quickly were on board and ready to go on our tour. We booked the Universal/SeaWorld tour. I have some amazing pictures of SeaWorld and will post those later. We were able to get those because the chopper literally flies right over the park. But at Universal you don't get anywhere near as close to the park. I have a decent zoom lens and all the shots your going to see are at max zoom with a TON of editing. The pilot crossed over I4 coming from WetnWild and no sooner we were at a hard bank to the left. We literally got all of 20 seconds of visible Universal shooting time. And that includes me holding my camera across the seat and just shooting totally blind. All of these Potter pics were shot blind so I greatly apologize for not bringing the best quality I feel I could of. The pilot said that due to noise complaints by neighboring houses of Universal they no longer fly directly over or around the Universal parks. Take that for what it is I guess but it still pisses me off...

But anyways on to the limited amount of pictures that were viewable. It was the best I could do with Captain Brasilia behind the yoke

Still very, very excellent! Wow! Absolutely great shots. You can already see where the stations will be and the rough outline of the buildings. Thank you!

Amazing shots

I wonder if Univeral played a part in them keeping them from flying over the park.

I don't think that would help. Universal Orlando has paid the FAA to make the air space a "No Fly Zone".
