could we please stop with the accent chat? it's just dragging the thread :/

on a relevant note, i'm not sure who follows james and oliver phelps on twitter here, but oliver mentioned today he was in orlando, and he wouldn't just go there for nothing (and it reminded me of the member here who said there was filming happening on site a few days ago) :)

There was some film and audio equipment headed back there earlier in the day on Saturday.

And yeah, security is way too uptight about the construction pictures if you ask me, but that is Universal's prerogative, just like having a rule no one but a few people seem to know or regard, but that's a topic for the photo board. It was sadly hilarious that we were "tailed" pretty much that entire side of the park.

The progress is really something, though. Was it just last week they were putting up the rebar for the bottom parts of the Gringotts facade? Now they're up well above the wall level with poured concrete!

How can they really give us grief for taking photos in public areas of construction visible to the general public?

Next time will just have to use the cockroach technique

They won't know what hit them with the cockroach technique  I've got some security shots I'll put up shortly

What does "busted" entail? Expelled from the park or a simple, "don't do that."?

To clarify, I was asking the question to the parties involved in this current incident; what specifically happened to Bob. I am well aware of the options the parks have.

Well all I gotta say is I appreciate what HateToFly and Bobwadd do, because I could never have the guts to take pictures that close to a construction wall. :hail:

We honestly didn't do anything. just took a few shots away from the walls and they hunted us down.

As BriMan said we did not do anything. A bunch of us took a few construction shots from the walkway and started moving on. Next thing I know I hear someone behind me yelling "Sir, Sit stop we need to talk to you". They proceeded to demand I delete the shots or I would be removed from the park. They then asked if I worked for a company or was with a forum. I replied "no, just here with a bunch of friends". Before they let me go I was told not to take anymore construction shots or I would be escorted out of the park.

I'm telling you guys, GO ON A SUNDAY!!!! The tourists are never there on Sunday!!!! Unless you dont have a choice in some cases... but if not Sundays are safer!!!

None the less, I do appreciate all the work youve done & all the amazing updates you provide, so keep up the good work!!!

This was not an issue with the tourists.

They won't know what hit them with the cockroach technique  I've got some security shots I'll put up shortly

Can't wait.

Just got home from a long day and still have a few things to do. I will try my hardest to get a couple of shots up.

They're only hurting themselves with this crap. You get free publicity for this kind of stuff. Threatening to throw people out of a park for stuff like this does no favors to guests coming back.

We talked about this yesterday at Finnegans. There getting a little full of themselves was the group consensus.

Here is Beavis and Butthead

i assume they can demand you to delete photos due to universal being private property?

something similar happened to me at disney in 2004-2005ish. there was an accident along the parade route and disney people were slapping cameras out of guests hands and demanding pictures be deleted and such. it was very aggressive and bizarre experience. :stunned:

btw great pics!

 @ beavis and butthead!!

Back when construction began on this area I tried taking pictures from fear factor and had the same issue...was told to delete the pictures and to go find a seat. Seems bevis and butthead were a little bored and didnt have anything better to do than tag a couple of innocent theme park nerds

Yeah, its because it is private property and short of actually taking your personal property, they can ask you to delete photos. It is questionably enforceable if you really want to press it, but I wouldn't risk it.
