Just ask yourself what Uni has to gain by announcing it 2+ years out? What do they have to lose?

Weeeelll... they did announce the first iteration 3 years out! But I completely agree with your marketing point. The only way it could be launched earlier would be in phases. So, major "this" is opening in 2014 and major "this plus" will be opening in 2015. While not a marketing guru, that would be the only way, that I can think of, that they might make it work to their benefit.

What I've always envisioned for an expansion is the following:

Phase 1: Forbidden Journey gets a brand new scene (perhaps in the last dome where you would fly over Hogsmeade instead of the lake) and Dragon Challenge gets a new paint job as well as a complete refurbishment of the queue to make it look like the stadium in Goblet of Fire (you wouldn't be boarding a real dragon--you're actually going to be helping the crew catch the two dragons gone loose with vehicles that look like its counterpart, therefore guiding them back to the stadium) with fire effects and whatnot, and the new rockwork facade to block the FJ building as well as to make use of the hideous green wall--the greenhouse section is completely closed off visually from inside and out, and the remaining section of FJ ride building is rethemed to Jurassic Park.

Phase 2: The North entrance to the Wizarding World (not Hogsmeade's arch anymore) is installed as a pair of looming rocks with a fiber optic effect declaring WWoHP's logo (a large rock on the other entrance is placed that has the same effect), the Hogwarts Express plaza is moved to where the magic fountain is, and behind it is a life-like simulator on the Hogwarts Express wherein you partake in a guest viewing of the surrounding area of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade complete with free candy (each ride is half an hour and so the experience is separately ticketed--there are two simulators within the ride building), and the place where the Express plaza was is replaced with Madame Puddifoot's and a new locker area for Dragon Challenge.

Sounds good...not sure about a half hour simulator though...but they could do some cool things with a simulated train ride!

Yeah, I figured as much, but then again, they could have short ten minute trips at one price during the day, and at night have like four trips that are each half and hour and you reserve your spot and you're served dinner. There's just a lot of possibilities with that kind of attraction.

Everyone says that, but how do people knowingly travel by train and dine and everything and still throw up? I find that quite unlikely, really, and in any case, they'd be warned that train or car sickness may occur. Besides, the movement will only be very slight and slightly bumpy; nothing over which to throw a puking fit. They're only eating candy.

Please no train simulator, let alone a ride that lasts a half hour.

A 30 minute simulator of any kind will cause vomiting regardless.

Yes, because tourists always listen to warnings. I'm sorry, V!ola, but I just can't see a simulator like that happening.

I don't think any Hogwarts Express simulator will work. I mean, sure it would be cool to use the Kong 360 tech, but honestly what would happen? We're on rails. The only thing that could happen would be an encounter with dementors. And I don't think a dementor attack alone could carry a whole ride on its own.

Okay, I think "simulator" is planting a seed that says that it's going to be a bumpy journey with a lot of action and adventure. No, it's not. If you've ever dined in a movie theatre, that's the basic experience. There will be very mild bumping and it would simply be a scenic trip for the most part sans any 3D, sans any action, etc. From what I mapped out in some elevations from the seats, the only bumping will be from sub-woofers under the vehicle, and guests can therefore leave the show area at any given time if they feel too sick.

But I mean, this is only a proposal of many possibilities. For example, a Forbidden Forest walking tour/maze could work out very well and it would allow for much money to be spent on animatronics like Firenze or a unicorn.

OK, I have seen Sinbad bashed on here for the past 3 years. I just don't get it. It is fun, it is funny, it has grand live fire and pyro effects and extremely dangerous stunts. And in the end, the audiences applaud and are thrilled. What in hell are you all comparing it to? The Chinese Olympic Opening Games? It does what it was intended, a giant people eater and a giant people entertainer. It is a family show and not a thrill guy attraction. If and when it goes... due to a Wizarding World expansion and the stadium is taken out, then IOA will have a problem unless it comes up with something that can suck up 3000 people every 3-4 hours.

Concerning the sim: I don't think anyone would wanna ride a "train ride" for 30 minutes. Tourists are fickle.

Concerning Sindbad: Never saw it, just because it never interested me. It could be good, just would rather skip it.

I'd like to see the character imbalance addressed. I hate how there's little to no sign of so many characters; Luna, Neville, Lavender, Katie Bell ect when they're so popular with so many fans. I know the classic trio will always be the main focus, but I'd love to see some of the other characters get at least a look-in. Also, some way of including some more evil characters would be great. I know the Voldemort discussion has been done to death, but surely Bellatrix and co could be fun to have around  I know a 'dark corner' has been mooted in the Knockturn Alley / Diagon Alley combo, but perhaps Malfoy Manor or some such place could work.

Don't get me wrong, I have no real viable ideas of how any of them could be incorporated, but I'd love to see it happen. My dear Luna deserves more than just a cheap knock-off Quibbler :P
