So, no one ever clarified. What is the rumored deal with the DC entrance? What is being changed exactly?

i didn't see this posted but it seems very interesting..

Wizarding World Expansion Link - (2/10/12) It’s hard to say if this is due to the expansion plans for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter or not, but according to a report at ParkRumors, Universal filed for permits last month to destroy building “234A” as well as a nearby tent-roofed structure. According to the article, Building 234A is the Frozen Desert building just to the right of the archway entrance into Hogsmeade.
The immediate assumption is that this could be tied to the functional Hogwarts Express rumors, but I think it’s still far too early to say for sure. However these two buildings are right inbetween the Hogwarts Express display train and the footpath that winds between Sinbad and Dragon’s Challenge that leads to the backstage area. Unless they were planning on demolishing the Sinbad theater, freeing up a little space here may be the best and only way to fit a functional train into the area.
On a related not, lets go back and talk about those rumored survey markings spotted backstage last month. I’ve marked the two structures slated for demolition in a blue hue on the two overhead images of the park, while in the wider view, I’ve marked off a few reported survey marker locations sent in with Red X’s, which oddly enough seem to fall right in line leading from the backstage road that leads to Amity in one direction and right through the footpath next to Sinbad that leads right to the buildings to be removed.
While I don’t have any more specific locations, I’ve been told about possible survey markings spotted from here all the way down to behind the Disaster show building as well. (Oh… and if you’re a Universal employee… please don’t stop to take a picture for us. I don’t need to see it and it’s not worth losing your job for.)

It would be very helpful if you would provide a link to the actual article when you post a quote like this.

They may not expand Hogsmead/WWoHP into this area If the rumors are true about making train run between train prop and X-amity the could be taking these two down to put in a Que for the train. The machines in front of Sinbad Show will give out return time train tickets when line exceeds QUE capacity.

Or it could be just a Que to get into WWoHP.

Yup ;) http://www.orlandounited.com/forums...World-Phase-II-Discussion&p=215234#post215234

Maybe someone can do a follow up, though. I might be there next weekend, and I'll try to peek if I can.

Hot off the Screamscape presses...

2014 - Jaws Replacement / Potter Phase 2 / Project 722 - (2/13/12) Screamscape sources came through over the weekend with some new details about the controversial Hogwarts Express train ride that would connect the back of Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. From what I’ve been able to learn so far, which I was expecting to hear, the Hogwarts Express train ride should not be a true locomotive style train ride. There will be a locomotive and coal car, but purely for appearance’s sake, connected to a trio of passenger cars.
By design, there should be two separate train units which will load and depart their respective stations simultaneously, along a single section of track, that will split into two side by side rails only in the middle of the trip, allowing the two trains to slip past each other. The trackway between the two parks will actually be elevated up in the air the entire way, which will technically place Platform 9 ¾ on the second floor of the King’s Cross station on the London side. I’m not certain, but the raised ground elevation at Islands of Adventure may allow for the depot to appear at ground level. The elevated track system will allow for large trucks to still pass underneath along Universal’s busy back roads. I’ve also attached a graphic depicting where I believe the track and stations will be placed. As for the magic that will transpire inside the train cabins… I’ll address that at a later time.

Wow, really trying to milk that second part (the more important/intriguing part). If you really can't reveal it yet, then why mention it? If you can, and you're just withholding to drive up numbers on another day, then that's just poor reporting.

After reading through it, there is nothing in there that hasn't been thrown out as an idea by people in these forums. All the points listed off have been theorized before.

So basically everything we've speculated on... Same route, same elevated track concept, and same locations for the stations/queues. The only "new" detail is the single track splitting at one point to allow the opposite train to pass. To be honest, this idea of a single track splitting at one point seems really weird, complicated, and maybe even dangerous...

Watch it be how the cars will have screens instead of windows to give passengers the illusion that they are travelling from Hogsmeade to London, and vice-versa...

I don't get the track switching thing. Why not just have two tracks? Would it be that much more expensive/problematic? Not to mention, wouldn't the trains have to look like they're going forward and backward since it's a shuttle. I don't know about this.

Exactly. The single track with the switch is potentially very problematic. I'd prefer two tracks and save the trouble of constantly watching out for the "switch" of the trains.
BTW, I don't think anyone will actually see the real vehicles. They'll run backstage and I'm pretty sure you will only get to see the interior of the cars when riding.

The decision of splitting the track sounds, indeed, weird. Not practical at all.

Guys, they use track switches all the time already. It is actually less complex than the track switches in The Mummy.

seriously, it's not that big of a deal.

So it sounds like this will actully be a monorail, not a train. I still can't believe it's happening.

Anyone want to sepculate how Universal will charge for this? Will all 2-Park passes include a free trip? Or will you need to purchase a seperate ticket just for the train? Will you be able to ride unlimited times, or pay for each trip?

How will they control people going back in forth, will they need a new ticket taker/turnstiles?
