Your spinner analogy is incorrect. Both trains will load at each station. So it will actually be 2700 from each station. 5400 for the whole attraction. And there is NO WAY to utilize 3 trains with this ride system.

Oh I realize the way they have designed it there is absolutely no way to go back and add a third train without significant work to the track (and probably the way the cable system is designed). I'm just saying it should have been designed differently to begin with. It would have required two transfer spots close to either station as opposed to one in the middle.

The ride in essence is just a beefed up version of the trams at Tokyo Disney Sea, which uses two transfer spots and three trains.

I'm really hoping for an extremely well designed queue with a series of ~5 minute pre-shows. Without it the dispatch time is going to make the queue consist of a lot of standing in one spot with sudden jolts in the line.

Awesome pics by the way, thanks a bunch!!

I do believe that the fact this ride ends up at the "other" park will impact the number of people who will queue up. 1. They have to WANT to go to the "other" park. 2. They will need to have a 2 park pass.

I'm hopeful as well! It's not going to be the end of the world, just trying to paint a different picture that this isn't the capacity beast we were originally expecting.

Instead of a 5-15 minute-people eater wait, it's going to be spending a lot of time in the 60-100 minute range.

I am afraid that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley is going to have tan wings.

I think the whole idea of this train is to unify the resort though...

I mean how many people now JUST go to one park? That number will lessen significantly with this addition. I believe the 1-park pass will become all but obsolete, as its barely even advertised as it is now. People will want the full Harry Potter experience, and considering a 2-park ticket is a better value anyway, I dont think queue lines will be short simply due to lack of interest in park-hopping.

Not to mention the fact that it is one of only a few non-restrictive rides at the resort will ADD to its popularity.

I believe it does, but not in the center of the front like in the concept art.

The question is if we should count it as one ride (total capacity) or two rides (one way capacity). Some people will need to ride it each direction, some will want to ride it at least once, and some will not ride it at all. There are so many possibilities, but how each category offsets the others is the important part.

Well, I said I would send emails and find out what that device on the roof is:

The items in question are vents for the LN2 system. On the bottom of the vent is an electrical elbow for the heater that will prevent icing when LN2 is exhausted through the vent. That large white tank is the LN2 dewar.

There is a valve just underneath the vents that has an extended stem, this is a Y-pattern globe valve, which can support the full pressure directly on the stem. If you google y pattern valve you can see the diagram of how they are made.

The long stem can be for hard to reach places or also to dissipate heat/cold at the handle.

I wonder how they will advertise the fact that a 2-park ticket is required to board the train...I know there's going to be a ticket booth at both stations but maybe the idea of spending more money will turn off some guests, especially those with a larger party..thus shortening the line

Well, they'll probably advertise them as "passports" or something of the sort, but yeah I don't know how they'll bring up that fact...

I wonder if they may open up the park to park access from within the parks to ease the demand on the train. That way those who are simply going from park to park may have a more appealing option.

It's still a transportation ride though. So I am thinking the demand would be less than a traditional eTicket, and they may cap the lines much shorter. When thinking about the average guests, how many would want to change parks in any given hour? I mean we know it's going to get slammed, just like Phase I. But after that would it have enough capacity? I have yet to draw a conclusion.

I was told I nailed this by calling it a D ticket on wheels. Its a show. Its a theatre. It just happens to also physically move.
