To reply to all the spongebob hate, I'd say that spongebob is the looney toons of this generation. With it airing from 99 to 12 it has influenced a generation of kids, And with it still going, I could see it gaining flintstones/ scooby doo status in toons. Which is why I find it to be a great ( and lasting) addition. as for nicks ratings... That's because all of their best shows are being aired on teen nick at 12:00 am ( though drake and josh and Ned's declassified are exceptions to that, even though they are only shown on teen nick anyway.) as for the harm in spongebob, I'd say showing toddlers any non educational tv is bad. (End rant)

I think the old episodes of Spongebob will have a legacy...the new ones are going to kill the show though...Scoobs is still at the park I believe and would make a great dark ride!

So, no Spongebob......no DreamWorks.......no flat rides.......wow, that's gonna be some Kidszone!

Yup. Because Fantasyland is just full of flat rides, isn't it? The only one that's worth a damn there is Dumbo. The other two are forgotten. The focus is on the 3 traditional dark rides, the boat ride, and the 2 coasters.

Flat rides are for when you have the small dark rides and the boat ride. Not before.

Unless something disastrous happens with the next few Illumination films, I see no reason why Universal would feel the need to pay Dreamworks. The store obviously leaves the door open for Spongebob, but I think there's a slim to none chance of see anything beyond Nick or Illumination.

My thoughts exactly, and I agree on a Scooby Doo ride! WAIT, how about Kidzone becomes a Hanna Barbera area!

Update: Just realized Looney Toons isn't HB

I'm with you. Again, if there was long range plans for DW, I don't see them letting the rights to the properties slide and require another negotiation where Universal will be in a worse position.

No, but even a "Toontown-like" approach to the land with a bunch of classic properties would be great. Scooby, Flinstones, Looney Toons. All of that would be great.

If the Seth MacFarlane Flintstones ever happens, these would all be active kid properties (not sure if Seth's Flintstones will be kid friendly )

In a perfect world, we get a madcap trackless dark ride through the Warner Bros Toon Studios hosted by Bugs Bunny and featuring Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. Where ET now stands, we get a Duck Dodgers in the 24 and 1/2 Century ride using the same track but different theming (obviously). Yes, we lose a classic, but it's for the greater good (yet again). Add in a medium sized boat ride through the musical Looney Tunes (What's Opera, Doc?, Rabbit of Seville, etc), retheme the Nuthouse coaster to Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner, and rip out Fievel.

Theme the entire thing to a cross between DL's Toontown and a studio backlot, and you've got a land that can stand for the ages.

I like the way you think! And there is a new Looney Tunes show out so there is a new generation.

That show is amazing. Best TMNT show ever, and this is coming from a kid who grew up on the original.

The property would make a great ride.

I've not really into this new TMNT, so I'm not on for a ride.

Well Universal is good at making a lackluster film/show a high class ride...see Transformers and Mummy..
I would love a Ninja Turtles Water Coaster

My guess is that they were convert the area to a Dreamworks land.

Curious George area can be Shrek themed Playland. They can theme the foam ball area to Farquads Castle, the water play area to the town. They can even put the musical photo machine from the first movie.

Woody Woodpeckers coaster redone as How To Train a Dragon.

Fivels Playland into a Kung Foo Panda Karousel.

ET into Rise of the Guardians Ride or Aliens vs. Monsters.

Animal Actors show into Madagascar's Afro Circus show. Just like in the Madagascar 3 movie. That would be the bomb.

I don't know if they would replace E.T. with Monsters vs. Aliens or Rise of the Guardians. Monsters vs. Aliens did good but not great at the box office, plus Guardians isn't really sucessful.

So with Madagascar now owned by Seaworld Parks in the U.S., I guess we are getting a really awesome Kid Zone redo, right? I was never a fan of Madagascar in the parks.

I still think Dreamworks is going to be very present in the Kidszone changes. How to Train your Dragon and the Croods offer some unique stories to work with.

SpongeBob!

I'd like to see them re-theme the whole area (at least the Curious George area) into Bikini Bottom.
