I don't care how busy it would be, I want an Apple Store so that I only have to drive 10 minutes to the Genius Bar (home or work) instead of dealing with OBT and the Millenia area.

Now, realistically, I just want something that is pleasant to wander around and with some halfway decent shopping and dining additions. DTD has never been more than an outdoor lifestyle center with a Disney twist to me (never experienced PI), so make it better and easier to get into and I will be happy.

It's in the one piece of art, but isn't on the model.

My line of thinking is that Sam's will be built only if they can't sign a tenant for certain spots.

Sam's is the only thing that could genuinely get me excited about the place.

I'm pretty Meh towards it. I don't hate the name as much as others. The water tower looks cool. I am excited to see some real additions to DtD. But like Skip, I'll temper my excitement until we get real details on what's coming.

And 2016? Really? I mean, I get this one has to open in phases because they can't close DTD for any extended length of time. But geez.

Id also like to see Landry bring one of their "Aquarium" restaurants to DTD. I enjoy the themed restaurants although pricey.

But if it does start next month and is scheduled to be done in 2016 that is a very stretched out timeline that sadly will probably see many things cut along the way.

When asked about Trader Sams possibly coming, Staggs said they will have some uniquely Disney venues but no direct copies from Disneyland.

The long timeline makes a lot of sense, especially when you consider how this will impact parking and BVD in general (lane closures for new/modified entrances, flyovers, etc.). My only worry with this is that the West Side garage will likely be built first because it would be the least disruptive to traffic and typical parking habits, but if things start turning sour on the project (vendors pulling out with no replacements, another economic crash cycle during construction, etc.), there will be a similar parking issue as we have now, but an even bigger glut of parking and massive operational costs on the West Side.

Other than that nagging thought, though, I love it.

Its going to be a chaotic mess for the next 3 years for sure But on the plus side it will be one more place for everyone to get photo updates at :thumbs:
