Last night was perfect! The rain held off, the wait times were kept fairly low, and the crowds were small.

Also, I finally got to do AvP, and to be honest, it wasn't as intense as people made it out to be.

If it isn't working for several ID's, my advice would be to call them to make sure everything is all good.

I think different rules apply with scare zones and houses. Houses are purely optional so if you are scared of clowns and go into giggles then it's your own damn fault. However when it comes to scare zones there isn't an option you must go through them. You could say it's your own damn fault again for going to horror nights but then again some could just go for rides in the dark and didn't know scare zones were a thing. I personally believe the sacrifice was cancelled due to it's placement but if someone did complain there had to be a really good reason why or else it wouldn't have been an opinion to take it down in the first place

you are right. you make a pretty good point

So... people complained about the sacrifice show? I watched a video of it yesterday and it just seemed like typical mystery and gore. I can't find a thing wrong with this and don't get it. I'll have to check.

Sacrifice cancellation had nothing to do with offended religious people. Creative decided to redeploy the actors around the scarezone because it got low guest survey scores for being too empty, especially around Mel's. Blood Bayou scored much higher without the show. That info came direct from Aiello.

Ah thanks. This makes SO much more sense. The show was quite piss-ant and poor. Too bad they don't have it in the budget for a bayou music group of some kind to fill the stage.

I guess I'm alone on this but I felt the show was the outstanding part of the zone. To me the zone is just ok but the show added a new layer to the characters walking around. So funny, complain of it being empty. So let's cut the show that we built a stage for just to add more scare-actors. While they pump the rest in WD. Which is unnoticeable to me. Also how about the rest of the half of the park being empty. I've heard plently of guest mention it.

One thing I'm confused on. What ever happened to that quasi scare zone infront of walking dead that was being mentioned prior to the event starting.

I think it was said was that the house would spill into the street. I guess on the topic of that house I'll add that the last room with the strobes really slows up the line through the house because people get through that part so slowly.

Re: Bayou of Blood. So there was a lack of scare actors in the zone as a whole?
I think the location is a tad problematic as well since there are no houses in the immediate vicinity, New York area on the other hand has 2 of then nearby and is a busy area in general.

They really ought to have something like a human sacrifice show as a stage show, they could elaborate on it a whole lot more that way. I always found it odd that there is no real horror show.

Anyway, a pity because I was looking forward to seeing the sacrifice on Thursday.

Hey guys. Quick question.

I am looking to save a little bit of money this year (a lot of unexpected expenses came up) and thought about going on a day other than Saturday when I have usually gone in the past. How are crowds on Friday and Sunday nights (general length of queues)?

Thanks

It just depends. With how popular it has become I feel like it's just a crap shoot. But usually the later the busier but then halloween and the day after are usually empty. Honestly what's most important is that you either do stay and scream or are at the gates around 5 and are one of the first ones in. If u do that you can knock 4 or 5 houses out in the first hour and then work the rest at Ur own pace. Walking Dead doesn't open tIL 6.30 but when they let us in at 6 people were already filling the queue. Skip that til the end. But to the wait times. They will get to 2 hours or more for walking dead and 90 for avp and halloween around peak. U can easily work around the big waits.

it still makes no sense over the many years of HHN they have used that location for stage shows...Why build a stage and then have a show for not even two weekends with mostly of the nights having rain and then go and say not enough customer satisfaction..How about adding people to the zone? spreading the zone out with more props...i think there was other ways around it then just cancel the show.

^Budgetary constraints may prevent them from just "adding" more people to the zone. Otherwise, I completely agree.

I don't think it would really fit well honestly, most of the time you wait in front of the concert stage and in the soundstage area and random walkers are just kind of weird in there IMO.

I was there this past Sunday and lines were long for the big houses (90 for Halloween, 60 for Walking Dead and AVP). Nearly everything else was 20.

I think i would avoid the middle of October. The last days of HHN tend to be less crowded. Fridays used to be not as bad but that changed now. Sundays are kind of bad. To be honest this year is all screwed up crowd wise. sundays have more people than fridays i think

If the problem is money then buy the tickets for Sunday and get the cocacola or BK discount. it would be cheaper

Last Sunday when we went the longest wait time was 90 for Halloween, at least when I saw it. Walking Dead was close behind that. The original houses didn't get much over 20 (we did them at the beginning of the night after Halloween, and both Dollhouse and Roanoke were no longer than 15 minutes). AVP was about a 60 minute wait. Dracula was maybe 30.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Always thought Saturdays were a madhouse but I liked the energy. And reading a lot of good reviews on a majority of the houses. So, I'll almost have a coin flip on whether I go this year or not.
