The app is showing a 90 min wait. Anyone know how the single rider line is in comparison?

Well... seeing as Kong was literally built on an expansion pad and so was half of Potter, I'll somewhat disagree. I don't think it was "complete", but just ran into bad luck. IOA was starved mostly due to the myraid of problems that came with the resort renaming and the decade it headed into. After 2000, the park was just left sitting there to stagnate for an entire decade. And arguably Potter was so separated from the rest of the park (still is) that it really feels like it's just now the park is getting some love.

100% Agree. Saying IOA was built complete is like the same crap that comes out of Disney's mouth when they say it is a mature market and therefore we don't need to build new stuff. It is all excuses. IOA was not built complete. It is a small park and needs more rides. A complete park would not need more rides. It is why the expansion plots are being used instead of rides being replaced.

Yep. Honestly, even after Potter, i've always felt IOA is pretty much a half-day park if you don't like water rides.

There's just not enough to do if you don't want to get wet. Even now with Kong.

Ironically I find Islands to now be the second most complete park in Orlando. Only Magic Kingdom tops it in my mind. Epcot is almost a full day park to me, Universal will be close once their newer attractions open in a few years, Animal Kingdom and Sea World are half day parks and Hollywood Studios is about a 1/3 day park right now.

Islands is a good park. 2-3 more solid attractions and it really would be a full day park.

Let me be clear: I don't think Island's has many flaws (beyond an over abundance of water rides). It's very much like DAK in that it has everything to make a great park, it just needs more rides. Island's also needs a nighttime show.

It does need more rides. It also needs a nighttime show. I think Studios should be the day/night parade park and Islands the nighttime/fireworks spectacular. I think the park has just the right amount of water rides. 95% of amusement/theme parks have 3 water rides. It does need a few more dark rides though.

Yes pretty much after Harry Potter and Spider-Man and now Kong they parks can get boring somewhat fast but Kong helps a lot now with making it possibly a whole day park

I can't think of one major theme park that has 3 water rides (rides meant to get you wet) in the same park besides IOA. Amusement parks? sure. But when USF next door has 0 water rides and IOA has 3, it's a balance issue.

Anyone have a first hand view of how Kong is doing on his first official fully open day?

Agreed. Theme parks have 1 or 2, not 3. 2 of the 3 getting you completely soaked too. I won't do IOA water rides without a change of cloths, you just get way too wet. No other park requires me to bring a change of cloths.

IOA was a complete park. Albeit, small. But all bases covered. DCA was an incomplete park at opening. $2 Billion later, it is about where IOA was after Hogsmeade.

In other words. IOA was a more complete park than DCA upon opening.

I love the water rides. I wish Universal had some. The thing I really like about the water rides is how close they are. It's easy to do the three rides, and repeat them since they are so close together.

That's the way we do it. Change into water clothes or ponchos and zip locks, soak, repeat.

Yeah, when I first went to IOA in 1999 I was more than satisfied. The same year I went to Epcot for the first time and I was mortified and disgusted.
