On topic, yeah my family went on Kong and got stuck outside on the ride for like 40 minutes. In the sun, that isn't fun. However, i think it's to be expected. Most new rides break down quite often. When UO opened, almost all the rides weren't working. So I don't think that's a problem.
As someone mentioned, I do believe that Islands has a large emphasis on water rides. With Toon Lagoon and Jurassic Park, you really have to be okay with the possibility of being soaked. On Dudley's and Jurassic, I've been able to dry off quickly. With Popeye's, it's almost never. Not to mention, Kong isn't quite dry, you get quite wet on that too. I'm shocked you don't see "you may get wet" signs. Islands needs more rides that cater to dark ride fans, and rides that don't get you completely soaked. Water effects are alright, but there isn't enough. I feel like Poseidon's Adventure, FJ, Spider-man, and Cat in the Hat are the only rides you can ride when it's storming, and I feel like there should be more, idk. I love Islands though, but I don't think I'd feel happy paying money just to go to Islands and not UO, if that makes any sense.
