There’s 0% chance there will be two different height requirements

With less than a minute from the train entering the station until it departs, there will be no time for seat belt checks or weird restraints. As I’ve said before, my guess is simple lap bars. Think Everest style lap bars, or maybe even simpler than that. Likely only 2 riders per row to make it easier for Team Members to get them lowered and checked before they run out of moving walkway.

Is it possible that there's an AA on the bike portion and we're only riding in the sidecar? Or that the bike just stays empty?

Also, if we're supposed to be riding in Hagrid's sidecar, is it possible there is no train of them? Just spaced out sidecars almost giving the illusion of there being only one motorbike?

That would hinder ride capacity to one cars, and while RMC is doing that with Raptors, I would think that's a bad idea.

Honestly, I get the vibe if they are doing Hagrids Sidecared motorcycle, the seating for the motorcycle will not be traditional motorcycle coasters. It doesn't make sense, especially on a moving platform for load.

And that I would assume height requirements will be the same across the board, and not limited.

I agree completely- they should have put in a Zelda or HTTYD coaster instead.

You know- in the location smack dab in the middle of Hogsmeade.

To say this, I have to think they'd be dumb if they didn't decide to bring the Osaka wand show to Orlando and Hollywood, considering both have projects near the Tri-Wizard stage going on right now, and that it'd be perhaps an easy inclusion.

And that, IU brought up that Hollywood may be getting more wand spots, so it'd be dumb for Orlando to ignore at-least the opportunity of the Incendio effect in Osaka Hogsmeade that can be triggered by the interactive wand effects.

I agree
Increasing the size of hogsmeade, adding shops (with interactive elements) and pathways is easily the biggest misstep in this project IMO.

Nah we talked about that already. The moving platform was something I don't think we had discussed here yet. But it is something I've heard is true.

It's also part of the reason I don't believe we will have motorbike seating - or at least not a type of seating where there are two types of seats (sidecar and bike,) because Team Members will only have a short window of time to get everyone in and get the lap bars down.

Am I right thinking that when there is a moving platform there is a continues stream of ride vehicles entering the station (just like Forbidden Journey)? If so that would do wonders for capacity.

Not as continuous as FJ. More like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, but with more riders per train, so should be better capacity than that coaster.

There will be room for several trains at once on the load platform, yes. Plus a couple on unload and at least one in between on the curve. Utilizing both stations from Dragons was a good idea for sure.

The complexity of this coaster makes me think that it will have the same kinds of teething problems as Gringotts... we know of at least two potential stops in the track with the possibility of other slow moving portions. Sounds fine to me!

While this ride will no doubt be complex, a lot of the complexity has already been worked out by Intamin from their previous rides. Gringotts was on another level when it opened. It combines ride elements and technology that need insane precision from sensors to work together with countless opportunities for ride-stops. It has the tilt-track, hybrid ride vehicles with controlled horizontal rotation activated and deactivated by sensors multiple times, two motion-base platforms that interact directly with the ride track and vehicle, a projection screen attached to a robotic arm that blocks the ride path, and a final launch that requires the robotic arm to function with perfect timing. The fact that they have been able to get Gringotts to run so reliably after the initial few months of teething astounds me.

Gringotts would be more amazing if it was just a lights on demonstration of the technology. It took a couple rides before I realized entire sections of track were moving and not just the vehicles. Very fascinating stuff.

Yup. Gringotts is an astounding engineering marvel in my eyes. It gets some criticism for the stop and go pacing but it's without a doubt an evolution in theme park tech. Forbidden Journey might have the superior overall ride experience and the kuka-arm vehicles won't be topped for a while but in terms of complexity, it's Gringotts all the way.

Some minor "problems" maybe but nothing compared to what Universal went through with Gringotts. That had Intamin track and supports, ride vehicles built by Premiere, a Vekoma tilt track, and a Kuka arm. At least this one will just be one ride manufacturer instead of four trying to work in unison.

Just talking about this.

Some fun Intamin issues over the years:
  • Cable failures
  • Retracking rides before it opens
  • Having to add supports and reinforcements after a ride opens
  • Frequent downtime due to design
  • Boat designs that cause flooding and sinking
  • A flume boat dislodging from the lift, rolling backwards, flipping upside down and trapping guests under water
Ooops forgot to mention these are all issues JUST FROM CEDAR POINT.

Intamin messed up the install of electrical and caused a long delay in testing.

Very interesting bit of information there about Intamin messing up electrical. No doubt they have had their share of problems but it begs the question, how do they keep getting so much work? I'm assuming it's because they deliver the goods once the dust settles and problems are resolved particularly if Universal is hiring them once again even after all the headaches from Gringotts.
