Low bids. When you tell a company you can build something for 10 million (or whatever) dollars less, they're gonna hire you.

Increasing the size of hogsmeade, adding shops (with interactive elements) and pathways is easily the biggest misstep in this project IMO.

Yeah what he said. Intamin delivers cheap rides and parks get burned. Plus they're more willing to modify their own designs and concepts to what the parks want to get that contract.

When I read the books, and watched the movies, I immediately saw potential for a Gringotts ride. I always envisioned it as being an amazing mine cart coaster with multiple levels of sight, through gorgeous and breathtaking sets. I'm still bitter.

Not as continuous as FJ. More like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, but with more riders per train, so should be better capacity than that coaster.

There will be room for several trains at once on the load platform, yes. Plus a couple on unload and at least one in between on the curve. Utilizing both stations from Dragons was a good idea for sure.

So we know it is going to be trains then? It's not just a bunch of individual Motorbikes with sidecars attached?

Even if it was shaped as such, that's still considered a train. Just themed differently.

"More riders per train" doesn't add up with the motobike/side car design.

Nothing adds up to motorbike design. I truly believe that's a wish and not a fact on anyone's part that's reporting it.

I heard 14 riders per train personally. No word on coaster train style or shape. Only guesses.

Just talking about this.

Some fun Intamin issues over the years:
  • Cable failures
  • Retracking rides before it opens
  • Having to add supports and reinforcements after a ride opens
  • Frequent downtime due to design
  • Boat designs that cause flooding and sinking
  • A flume boat dislodging from the lift, rolling backwards, flipping upside down and trapping guests under water
Ooops forgot to mention these are all issues JUST FROM CEDAR POINT.

Intamin messed up the install of electrical and caused a long delay in testing.

Is Intamin still meant to be the manufacturer for the Poller Coaster?

Honestly, I get the vibe if they are doing Hagrids Sidecared motorcycle, the seating for the motorcycle will not be traditional motorcycle coasters. It doesn't make sense, especially on a moving platform for load.

And that I would assume height requirements will be the same across the board, and not limited.

They could do something along the lines of Dinosaur/Indy and more just assume the shape. Both of those are “Jeep” rides, but still simple seating. Just build out the exterior of the car to strongly resemble the motorcycle and side car, and leave the traditional bench seating and lap bar.

Thank GOD. Tron has 14 riders per train but it's WAY longer than the HRRR trains. I'm starting to think that if the 14 riders per train report is true then we'll see three, four person vehicles and one, two person vehicle per train.

Yea, imagine both load and unload for the red dragon... that whole long strip should be a moving load platform, going in the left direction. That leaves a lot of room to load two long trains at once. Far more space than HRRR's platform I think.

Is there any other coaster out there that sends a train up a 60˚ angle and locks it in place?

I think two trains loading would be too ambitious but with one unloading in one section and then loading in the next, it should create a smooth experience and I don't think two trains loading at once would add any extra capacity to the ride. With all the special elements in this, I think having two trains ready to go at once would be too much for the track to cope with.

I've attached the lengths of one section of the HP building and the HRRR building.

Remember that the HRRR includes BOTH load and unload on the same platform.

Potter will have its unload on the Ice station. Then ONLY load on the fire station side.

And when I say 2 trains, I mean it can hold two trains, but I'm thinking load will just keep loading every row as if what train it is part of is irrelevant. In other words, more like loading Haunted Mansion or FJ, and less like HRRR where there's actually numbered row spots for pre-load.

14 riders per train is interesting. Intamin hasn't done a configuration like that before with its traditional LSM trains.

My guess is it could be like Cheetah Hunt, which is 16 riders, except one car is missing two seats, as Joe said... Which may be related to theming on the train's front or back taking up space. Maybe? Or, they may have needed to truncate one car just so the train fits into the showscenes they have planned. Who knows.

Here's how I think load/unload may work. They don't need nearly as much time to unload guests, so that platform will be much shorter, but still moving. Then space between unload and load will be for empty trains to wait their turn, so they build up after unload, (rather than outside the building like Dragon Challenge used to do.) This way, there's seemingly/hopefully always a train ready at load, almost as if it's a people mover type load situation... If all is going smoothly of course.

Each section for the HP is 30m long and HRR is 45m for both loading and unloading plus it’s a longer train. I think you could have two trains in loading at once but I can’t see simulatenious loading of both trains at once.

I’m assuming 14 people per train will be 7 rows of 2. 3 or 4 across doesn’t fit for an even number of riders per car.

The dispatch time is what’s really going to determine this and that will be determined by the longest block of track. HRRR has 5 blocks with the longest section taking 18 seconds.
