I would've thought a brand new restaurant coming to one of the resorts would have its own article here. How come this wasn't reported on, @Brian G. or anyone who works on publishing articles here? Are you waiting for more information to be released?

So, having stayed at Sapphire Falls, I like it! Beautiful resort with a good water slide.

...Cabana Bay is still better ;)

Well, considering this bit of news dropped yesterday morning, and the site's senior staff was busy covering Horror Nights... perhaps they just need a day or two to get something up? Especially since there isn't any info available beyond "a malt shop is coming in this location?"

Stayed at one of the towers this time (Building 7) and the whole first floor and elevators smell like cigarette smoke now. They allow smoking right at the exit/entrance and it's making its way in the building. That should not be a smoking area. I assume the other tower has to deal with this too.

I hope you alerted housekeeping or the front desk?

I let the front desk know when I checked out. I also explained it in the guest survey they send you. Hopefully they address this because that tower is starting to smell like a old vegas casino now.

Not only that they are in violation of the indoor clean air act. I like the volcano view but it does seem like the bottom floor is just ugly space now.

Yeah that tower is pretty much ruined for me now. I didn't like the smell of cigarette smoke blown in my face every time I exit/enter the building and lingering up to my room. And to make matters even worse, if you decide to use the shortcut (along the lazy river path) to the diner you have to walk through smokers lane again! They all gather around that path too! Something really needs to be done about this problem. I like the authenticity but adding that old smoke smell is going a bit too far.

Think what it would be up in Tennessee, probably twice the smokers amazing how the stench permeates everything. I smoked for twenty five years - I apologize to all around me who had to endure that

Didn't realize this thread was here - we stayed at CBBR about 2 weeks ago. An employee told us that the malt shop should be opening within the next month or so. Not sure how true that is

Question: Can I reactivate last year's Cabana Bay freestyle cup or do I have to buy new ones for this year?

You can reactivate, but there's no discount for doing that

Don't mean to double post - but I saw some pictures this morning of the shake/smoothie bar with employees behind the counter. Wonder if this is in soft opening now?

I wasn't expecting for them to have some grab-and-go breakfast items as well as smoothies. Wish they'd plop some Freestyle machines over there too lol

Looks like a great addition! Noticed on one of Orlando Informer's tweets that the smoothies were going for $7.50, and can include whey protein. Just 50 cents higher than my local gym charges, which feels like a fair price in my opinion.

I've found CBBR to be fairly priced in most of it's offerings, the Hideaway eats too many of my bucks but the rest is aces.
