Nope. Several times last month we parked at AKL, the Poly and the Contemp just by saying dining and flashing ID. Surprised me I have to say.

Yeah, I flash my ID and say eating and they wave me on. This happened every time at every hotel I have ever been at for Disney. Heck my husband went to just visit people at AKL and he said I am visiting and showed his ID and they let him in. Interesting that different people have had different experiences.

We always park at Boardwalk, just show ID, say we are going to breakfast, and can usually park just past the gate and to the left in the main lot. If an event is going on, they direct you to park across the street. This year, on the first day of Food and Wine, the lot across the street was limited to 4 hour parking with a guard in the lot. First time this has happened to us. Don't know if they are tightening the rules. Guard at gate said many locals use the lot and it fills too quickly.

At Boardwalk they have never given me an issue. I assume its because the actual boardwalk is a mini-attraction in itself that thet dont want to limit to just hotel guests.

I'm all for height but that definitely wasn't an ideal location. Thanks for this DH.

Modern green roof technology with comprehensive design and engineering solutions enables visitors to cross a busy four-lane highway without leaving the lush greening of a park. How cool is that?

The Garden Bridge at Universal Studios in Orlando is the first of its kind in Florida. Designed by Miles Architecture Group Inc., Libra Design Group and Green Roof Service LLC, the green bridge creates an innovative connection of Universal City developments. Selected ground covers, shrubs and trees escort pedestrians almost without notice that they are crossing over a busy highway. The distinctive landmark project is engineered with people in mind.

Looking at that I have a feeling that they are testing the concept here for future projects (like Wet-N-Wild, and other projects that might have to cross roads).

Nice. I have been on something like this before. It was a park in the air, which I thought was so dumb until I actually went.

Lol, yeah that whole Potter thing is gonna jack EVERYTHING up. Wait til everyone sees the new ticket tier system and pricing. Then figure in Express passes going up, Potter and major Merch going up 3-5%, parking going up,Food and Beverage going up 3-5%, and then you need to count on several up charge features similar to the Cinespec up charges at Duffs and Lombards coming to both parks for separate reasons. It's going to be very very expensive Universal vacation for many but still very comparable to Disney. Only thing is Universal is delivering a massive amount of new product headlined by the biggest themepark success ever, Potter. So in the end while it will be expensive most won't even flinch in order to experience all of the new hotness that's coming.
