ound: So true... And I love how they use the Rhino Rally water section in the video prmoting the attraction that destroyed it. BG, you've done so well up to this point, why the mistakes now? Just give these animals ample room, they need it, and that Clydesdale building is quite small.

I went to the computer lab after taking the PSAT today and I was SO CLOSE to dying when I saw everything. The thing that limited my actual death was the name change. I'm a hugely tolerant person, but this is kinda... really cheesy. I love the awesome theming, though. People were looking at me like I was crazy. I was like, h8rs gonna h8. I'm so excited for this ride! And if they change the name back to Cheetaka, then I'll simply dig another grave.

Bird Dive...LOL...then I'd have to rename my cat who is currently SheiKra because that coaster indirectly saved his life.

I can just see my freinds saying "hey man did you ride the Cheetah Hunt?", "you mean the kiddie coaster?", the name is not catchy or cool at all. The name does not fit the intensity of the coaster, when I hear Kumba, or Sheikra it sounds like an intense rollercoaster, when I hear Cheetah Hunt I think of a kiddie ride. The name should not have been changed just because everyone already knew it, and when I say everyone I mean the .00000001 percent of us who are theme park fanatics.

I agree with everything you say. The name change was unnecessary. They paid the rights for Cheetaka and now they have to pay for the rights for this crappy name! I was in school on a computer trying to to make noises because I was in the library! Then I was completley still and pissed off when I read the changed name. Everybody thought I had some sort of a medical problem.

Also, I like how you say ANOTHER grave (WWoHP).

The name change was pointless. Cheetaka was so much better. It sounded like an intense ride. dmkrc5 hit the nail on the head. Atigeg, that sounds interesting. Would you mind telling that story? It sounds interesting and pretty cool...and yes Sheikra is a cool name for any pet!

I can imagine the Speakers on the ride that say " Enjoy your ride on Cheetah Hunt " Is sounds so funny if u say it in his voice! I don't know.. i just cant take the name seriously.. Like ahhhh it drive me insane LOL.. like i Don't wanna see a big sign spelling Cheetah hunt

Okay, I'm not infuriated anymore :smiley:, besides the name, the coaster is even more unbelievably awesome than I thought it was going to be, which is awesome :happy: From what I read, I think this will have I-305's OTSR which are supposed to be MUCH better than the normal ones. I don't see why Intamin wouldn't put them in, they are cheaper than the old ones and much better to ride on. Of course, look at SheiKra, it lost a floor! I'm sure it's not out of the question that Cheetaka will receive lap bars in the future :shrug: after all, they are cheaper.

The trains are one of the coolest I've ever seen, and the Cheetah exhibit will be great, as high quality theming as Manta and the touch screen info is a win.

Back on the name, anyone notice that the web site doesn't have a logo, and the website doesn't have the name of the coaster as the title? HOPE


edit: Also, a petition has been set up, if anyone is interested it in, http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/cheetaka/ There is a lot of... very interesting things mentioned there.

He's a big, sassy cat now and I thought it only fitting that he be named for the coaster. Here's one of his baby pics:

5 years from now will it really matter if the name had gotten leaked? No I don't think so. My money says that they already know they screwed up and will have another video saying after the overwhelming demand they've decide to change the name to Cheetaka and I think that's when they can drop the logo

All I have to say about this coaster at the moment (because I really don't know anything about it ) is that I'm thoroughly disappointed in this name change. Cheetaka sounded much more... appropriate. Especially with all of the other coaster names around it. Plus, the first thing that I think when I hear it is not cheetahs hunting, it's hunting cheetahs. Busch Gardens, you let me down.

I'm honestly not a big fan of the new name, but then again I hated Cheetaka when I first heard it too. I'm just excited we are getting an Intamin in Florida. I mean it's no I305, but it will still be awesome.

To those of you who were pissed off like me that there would be a Cheetah Chase AND Cheetah Hunt, we may have some hope for a Cheetah Chase name change. This is from their facebook page:

Erik Lettre: So now that we have Cheetah Hunt and Cheetah Run, I'm guessing that Cheetah Chase will have a name change to avoid confusion? I hope so at least. That's a lot of Cheetahs! lol

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay: Although we haven't officially announced anything yet, I can guarantee we will make sure there is no confusion between Cheetah Hunt and The family rides in Timbuktu!

I would hate for there to be confusion between Cheetah Hunt and Cheetah Chase. I could just imagine the ignorant tourists now.

Unfortunately, BG is being very stubborn and saying that they have no plans to change the name on most posts about the subject. And to anyone who thinks a name isn't important, how would you like it if they decided to call it 'HP's Flight Around the Castle with a Bunch of Scary Stuff Thrown In?' In all fairness that's what FJ is, and Cheetah Hunt is just as bad.

Then we have BG saying on FB that they would never dream of hunting endangered animals. I wouldn't think it for a second, but why cause controvery by just putting 'cheetah' and 'hunt' in the same sentence. I think it's a very ignorant error.

I definitely agree that not only was Cheetaka a much better name... but Cheetah Hunt is about as awkward and horrible of a name as I could imagine.

But... that being said... the ride experience is going to be the same. Unfortunate name aside, I'm still getting in line.

Cheetaka does fit in better with the names of the other rides.
