From Screamscape (about the trains):

2011 - Cheetah Hunt / Cheetaka - Confirmed - (10/16/10) Busch Gardens has confirmed that the restraints to be used on Cheetah Hunt will be the same over the shoulder style restraints Intamin has used on Maverick, and Kingda Ka. Odd though, because I don’t think I’ve seen those Intamin restraints used on a coaster with only a 48 inch height limit before.

I think the first Intamin in Florida might be a little to tame but only time will tell. I still think this ride is going to be a blast and cannot wait to ride it. I look forward to watching this coaster grow skyward. Another thing the name like a bunch of others have mentioned is terrible IMO. BGT has always created amazing coaster names and this one not only falls short but might be one of the worst coaster names ever given to a coaster of this caliber.

ive been away all week. The coaster looks great, but I am always hoping for a ride that breaks speeds. How fast can a Cheetah run? I guess if it's 60 mph, then it fits well with the theme. I am excited about 3 launches, should make for a fun and thrilling experience.

As far as the name change, put me on the "why?" boat. Considering all their big coasters are one word, why not just call it Cheetah? I kind of agree that Cheetaka is difficult to say, but so is Gwazi, Kumba, Shiekra, and Montu. They arent words you say often, giving it a name like Cheetaka makes it seem more intense.

As it was pointed out, this was a last minute decision, you don't launch a product without a logo, especially when everything else (the theme, design, mapping) has all been revealed. Seems like someone upstairs got cold feet a few weeks from the announcement. Oh well, I will ride regardless, but will most likely refer to it as the Cheetah, when referring to it in conversation.

according to Wiki Pedia, a Cheetah can run up to 75 mph, and can sprint around 65 in 3 secs.

The cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is an atypical member of the cat family (Felidae) that is unique in its speed, while lacking strong climbing abilities. The species is the only living member of the genus Acinonyx. It is the fastest land animal, reaching speeds between 112 and 120 km/h (70 and 75 mph)[3][4] in short bursts covering distances up to 460 m (1,510 ft), and has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 103 km/h (64 mph) in three seconds, faster than most supercars.[5] Recent studies confirm the cheetah's status as the fastest land animal.[6]

Hopefully their cheetahs aren't 75 miles per hour fast, it would be sad to see them run faster than the ride.

LOL, actually how cool would it be to see them actually "race" the ride...would never happen, but still it would be pretty awesome.

And then your butt would get coated with that yucky orange powder when you get up from the seats.

I will ride it no matter what they call it, but I will always call it Cheetaka just as Mantis was and always will be Banshee and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority is the Wedway People Mover. If it's not an airtime machine, I won't ride it much but will instead praise it for drawing the crowds away from my beloved Bird Dive...er, SheiKra.

^^ Bird Dive..!! Well they said Cheetha hunt is a better name cause it most accurately depicts the ride experience of bounding across the Serengeti alongside nature's fastest and most agile predator....No duh i could have guess what they were trying to say with the name Cheetaka.. Were not babies. lol

Their reason for changing the name, makes no sense whatsoever when Cheetaka is more than enough of an explanation for the ride. You know what else explains the ride...THE CHEETAHS!!

Its not like they would think that a roller coaster called CHEETAKA is about PINK FLAMINGOS, do they think the GP are a bunch of idiots?! *rant over*

Hmmm, well, that leads me to a politically incorrect comment. If the coaster is slower than the actual animals, perhaps they could more accurately rename it Crippled Cheetah or Slowpoke Cheetah?

This whole chain of events shows that they think everyone, including us the fanatics of their product, are complete idiots.

Alright guys, the point has been made. A majority of you are not fond with the name. It's better to move onto discussing the coaster and it's features, and what we will be anticipating on experiencing. If any news comes along regarding a name change, then obviously you can discuss again. As of right now though, it's beating a dead horse.
