I really wanted to go out there today and see the clearance issue with the skyride. The pictures don't really give you a clear understanding of elevations. I probably will not be returning to the park until February 18 for the behind the scenes construction tour led by Mark Rose. By then track, weather permitting, should be done and we will be able to see new angles and have a better understanding of the total experience.

If there is no work tomorrow, I might have to brave the rain and check it out!

I heard from another site that crews were working late this evening...could be interesting to see what's happened by tomorrow if this is true.

Nothing really new to report today...the only change was the track and supports for the drop off the tower are on flatbeds. Don't expect it going in the air anytime soon though...:(

Not a lot to report from today, working on masonary, some trench work, and , dump trucks moving dirt, and station work.
Took a ton of pics and will start posting as soon as they are uploaded.

Went back to the truck at lunch time for the bigger camera and a second go round of the park. Also Rhino Rally was open now, so I could get some pics from that area.

Maverick has a couple, well... I wouldn't call them near miss, but there are a couple times one train comes near another train. I don't know the layout that well for this one, so for any of you that do does it look like there will be any for Cheetah Hunt?

Judging from my No Limits recreation (which by the way is the exact same length of track as the real one ) One train will go through that final s-bend at the same time as one going under it down the drop. It doesn't really get close but they cross paths.

Busch Gardens Blog posted an insider look at Cheetah Run.

Building on Busch Gardens’ unrivaled ability to combine thrills with immersive animal encounters, Cheetah Run will set a new standard for bringing nature and humans together in a really unique way.

Located in the area that formerly housed the Budweiser Clydesdales, this expansive new habitat will give you the opportunity to get closer to cheetahs than ever before with elevated, glass-paneled viewing areas.

That's right. You -- face to face with a majestic cheetah.

Even more exciting will be the chance to witness the world’s fastest land animal in action. Busch Gardens’ trainers will conduct daily sprints with the cheetahs for an awesome opportunity to see one of nature’s true wonders in full form!
You can your family can also explore interactive touch screens to learn even more about these big cats and SeaWorld Parks' conservation work on their behalf.

Can’t wait to see the cheetahs?
We hear you! So from now until the opening of Cheetah Run, you can see them on the Endangered Species Safari.

Five cheetahs recently arrived at the park in accordance with the international cheetah Species Survival Plan. Steelman, a 12-year-old male, Ngoma, a 10-year-old female, and littermates Jagati, Iraja and Juno – all born in October 2009 – will be part of Cheetah Run.
The 45-minute Endangered Species Safari also includes up-close encounters with giraffes, zebra and rhinos on the 65-acre Serengeti Plain. The experience is $39.95 per person, plus tax, and park admission is required, but not included.

I don't believe we are. Cheetah Run is the name of the actual Cheetah environment area.
