New update...

http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/bgt1.4.11/

The footers for the turn/heartline and return off the launch in yesterday's update are complete and there's a lot of work going on for a new concrete slab near the Nairobi walkway. Station work continues and theming has started on the first trench. Gwazi re-tracking work is continuing as well. The track that was on the flatbeds is still waiting in the support/track yard.

Here is a pic from today's update which should be live within an hour or so.

It's a new delivery to the far north side of Rhino Rally.

New update!

http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/bgt1.7.11/

Part of the third launch is now in place! Some cement has been poured for the trench near the Nairobi walkway and footers along the return trip. Gwazi work continues.

The third launch is complete and crews were able to get part of the parabola in place. Also, a single segment for the mid course is up as well.

Vertical construction continues!

http://www.rollercoasterpro.com/updates/bgt1.9.11/

Even on a Sunday, crews were busy placing new supports and track. The mid course is complete and they've started the exit to the heartline roll.

Nice update. I amazes me how often the track type changes and yet the transition is so fluid you barely notice it.

I gotta say, the more they complete on the ride...the more I'm thinking that we're all in for a treat. When Sandor stated at IAAPA that this would be better than Maverick, I was skeptical.

From my buddy Spook on my FB page this morning....

In other news, BGT has posted new 2011 rehab updates on their website at last. Included in there is a April 23rd reopening date for the Skyride

Really love the Sky Ride and have missed while it's been down.

^ Agreed, the skyride is something I would ride every time I go to BGT. At least we have a date of when major construction will be complete.

^Same here. It's a vital transportation service the park has and a lot of guests will be glad when it comes back. Not to mention the great views of Cheetah Hunt we'll have from there.

No visible vertical construction going on today. However, there's tons of supports and a few track pieces for the heartline that look to be going up tonight. The Serengeti Express goes right underneath the ride so I'm sure they didn't want to interrupt daily operations. The back wall for the panel is going in and tons of rebar is down for the trench near the Nairobi walkway. Gwazi has a new delivery on the tracks as seen in the Gwazi Refurb Thread!

Not a whole lot going on today. Catwalks and railings were installed along the mid course, third launch and partly up the parabola hill. More track has been loaded up on flatbeds and there's some minor work going on around the station area.
