Even with the minor issues, it's still far from subpar animation.

I don't expect animation of this caliber to be less than perfect. And I don't think the white of a major characters eye going through her eyelid is a minor issue. There's also objects passing through other objects.

I agree with you, and the issues will be resolved. But what I originally said is that even with the errors, the animation is far from subpar.

I'll agree for most of the ride the animation is excellent, but the second preshow has seriously discernable issues. I'm afraid they're just going to take the cheap/easy way out and let it be.

Anyone who has been there today - any confirm either way?

I didn't notice anything wrong. Uni Creative said yesterday that the film has been adjusted since Soft Openings began so take that as you will.

Really major? It is a minion in the background which 9/10 people wouldn't notice with the ride affects/motion and what is going on screen in front of them.

As long as Gru has eyebrows in the second pre-show room, I'll let any other errors slide.

Not worrying about stuff 9/10 people wouldn't notice gets you the WDW we have today.

True, but still the yeti in comparison to a minion of hundreds on the film in the background is a bit different.

It's not like they one day decided they didn't care about one of their E-Tickets. It starts small, then snowballs. The point is, cutting corners can be dangerous. Universal knows that already, Rockit cars anyone?

And it's not hundreds of minions. Two of the biggest errors were one of a handful of minions and a main character in the preshow room.

it wasn't even "broken" in the first place because it was in technical rehearsals. It was allowed to have MINOR issues. 99.9% of the population doesn't nit pick over and eyebrow, they are just happy to be able to catch a soft opening.

Exactly just before I left for my holidays I was praying there would be softs and I rather be able to ride it in technical rehearsals where it is 99.9% complete because of a minions eyes and a couple of other animation issues then not ride in until two years time.

Nobody ever said they weren't allowed to have some issues during the softs. All that was said was that they should have fixed it. Which they did.

On a more positive note Despicable Me is a hit at the park and is receiving terrific feedback from guests. The minion merchandise is selling extremely well and according to those I spoke with today they are already looking at ways to expand merchandise options. Today DM commanded extremely long lines and had to use an extended queue with the expected wait times of 90-120 mins.

I'm not referring to a minion in the background. I was talking about one of the girls eyes.

That is fair enough then, I thought it was the one you brought up previously (or somebody else did). Anyways it's good that Uni have got that fixed.
