Florida Thrills has a great photo update of the facade, as well as the plethora of awesome new merch now available in the Universal Studios Store (which will become available in the Super Silly Stuff location when it opens).

They're even selling the cookies the girls in the movie tried to sell:

Does every girls shirt need to say "It's so Fluffy?"

And I don't think they need to sell the cookies. Everything isn't Potter.

No, but it's a nice detail. Shows that they did their homework for this.

Everything should be. Potter changed the game for theme park merchandise, and for that, I thank it. Fans obviously want less generic merchandise and more things you can only get at the attraction. The cookies are just that, and I think it's a GREAT touch. I only hope Disney realizes this and starts making more attraction specific merch other than a few lousy t-shirts.

Bravo, Universal.

I disagree. There is nothing wrong with great merchandise. I just don't think the cookies are great merchandise. Unless they are an aberration to the normal candy and junk sold in the gift shops, they will be overpriced and pretty expensive. They aren't something I see a benefit in producing. I love attraction specific merchandise, that isn't want I meant. I think every attraction deserves its own products. I don't think every attraction needs to sell food.

If they make money off of them, great. I'm not going to buy them, but other fans will love them. If the food is in the movie (and the cookies are a big plot point) it makes sense to sell them.

As long as they are good and addictive I am all over selling them...if they taste like everyday Publix cookies then I find it to be a waste...perhaps we will see more sweets in the SSS store.

I want that Gru shirt. So much.

Those Choco-Swirlies look so good too, I'm really happy they have such an expanded collection of merchandise for this property. Especially with the sequel coming next year. I like Desp. Me alot more than Shrek and Neutron, that's for sure.

^Awesome! :rep:

I love how it feels like we were complaining about the slow pace of roofing installation only a few pages back, and now the whole dang thing is done and freed from construction walls!

That really does look great. Maybe a soft opening on or around Memorial Day is possible.

I like the house, the marquee still looks weird to me. Disproportionate? Out of scale? I dunno, maybe just personal preference. Can't wait to ride this in August.

It's definitely out of scale, but so is the whole house.

I kind of wish that they kept the logo looking like this for the sign, minions included:

^ Agreed but its picking up pace now. Today at 3 in the afternoon there were three separate teams working outside.

I'm sorry but I fail to see how a few windows and the covering of Gru's car is picking up the pace. I do agree however that it is the longest roofing job in history.

Maybe its due to the fact this is the first time since the facade has started they had 3 separate teams working on it during business hours...

I was at Universal this past Saturday and there were workers present that day also as in times previous that I have been there so all I am saying is I see workers there but I just don't see any break neck progress as of yet.
