The grouper is the one who deviates the different groups into lines to make the sure the ride is filled to capacity. So I assume there will be a regular queue portion, to which they meet the groupers who decide which lane you'll be waiting in. It's a far more streamlined version of the queue for The Simpsons Ride. The problem with Simpsons is that they separate the floors. On a two-dome day, they're only able to group at max 48 people once you reach that portion of the queue. And with gate A's, that becomes even more pitiful. After the 48, it's probably another five minute wait. That is absurdly atrocious and is why it feels like forever.
Here, they're simultaneously loading around 90 on one side, and 90 on another. A nice 180 total...much better than 48! It's about a four minute wait between pre-shows, so it'll go by much quicker, guaranteeing a better line flow and more guest satisfaction. As far as Universal is honestly concerned, once you're inside Gru's living room holding your glasses, you're on the "ride". So this is really fantastic.
