Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem (USH)

Now that it's March, I'm getting very excited for the upcoming opening for Minion Mayhem. I'm sure Inside Universal/these forums will keep us posted when the employee previews start. So, I'm really hoping for possible soft openings/technical rehearsals by the end of the month. I can't wait to become a Minion!

I agree, especially for Super Silly Fun Land. We all sort of have a good idea what the attraction will be, but with SSFL we could see all sorts of unique surprises!

Woof. Just finished watching Pharrell Williams' performance of "Happy" on the Oscars. I'm glad the Frozen song won, but man I hope they blast that one all over SSFL and in the dance party room because people won't be able to resist dancing.

Apparently if you have a fear of heights, the spinner may not be for you. It's right on the edge of the "roof" of Frankenstein Parking, and the views are going to be mighty spectacular.

I am afraid that the Super Silly Fun Land backdrop might get in the way of having those awesome views.

If I'm not mistaken from the pictures, doesn't the backdrop have a slight dip around the area of the spinner? I believe the vehicles might rise above it, though.

Yeah there's dips on the right and left there, those vehicles will be getting some good peeks of the San Fernando Valley unless Universal doesn't allow the arms to go high enough... which is plausible.

I'll be visiting USH this month with family who hasn't been to the park since 2004. So positive: despicable me will be soft opened. Negative: no waterworld :/

Yeah, and my relatives will be getting less for their money and missing out on a spectacular show which they've never seen. So definitely a negative.

I think Super Silly Fun Land will be the highlight of this addition. It looks great, and I'm impressed with the amount of time they're putting into this.

They've even simulated the flooring that you would typically see in a boardwalk. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised when this opens.

I'm very excited for SSFL. Even though I'm not the target audience, I'm excited about it being an addition to the park.

It's definitely an upgrade over what was there before and we haven't even see the Minion-festooned entrance arch that is coming. It's going to look great and it's going to be a perfect transition from the gift shop.

I am also very surprised.  From what I have seen behind the wall, USH is getting Orlando quality with Despicable Me and SSFL for the very first time!!!  (Think Optimus statue compared to painted mural!!!)

I am excited for what SSFL will bring to USH crowds.  Let's just hope somebody doesn't ruin it for the rest of us like Dragons Challenge at IOA.

Employee preview is happening today with no rides but basically a behind the walls look. They're also adding stylized clouds for the show building on the SSFL side and they added a Gru logo above the propaganda posters.

Daniel, you sure the clouds are going only on the SSFL side and not the entire front of the show building? Would be nice for all of the building to get it.
