I'd rather keep Marvel inside Innoventions then deal with the idea of Disney making a Marvel-themed land that consists of nothing but meet-and-greets at DCA which MiceChat actually honest-to-god reported.

I mean, it's probably not true but oh man would that be a bad idea.

My list of top things that need the most proprietary in being updated or changed in no particular order:

Eventually gut Autopia or make it smaller, or extensively update it to be electric and add beautiful exotic alien planet scenery for us to ride through.

Replace Innoventions with a brand new E-ticket.

Update the entire esthetic of Tomorrowland and make it more cohesive while not relying strictly on Star Wars while also adding rides.

Update or replace Buzz Lightyear. It feels so cheap lol.

Update all Fantasyland dark rides like they did with Alice in Wonderland. New effects and figures, etc.

Create a Frozen ride. Love it or hate it, its warranted.

Beauty and the Beast attraction. Now.

Update Winnie the Pooh like the Fantasyland dark rides.

Add some tasteful new effects to the Haunted Mansion (and make it scarier) and add the Hat Box Ghost finally.

Fix the new Matterhorn bobsleds and make them comfortable dammit. And add more effects and new Harold animatronic.

Clean up Toon Town and repaint it and make it more interactive again.

Make Hollywoodland feel more cohesive in theme and add and redo the facades to be more '40s-50s themed. Remove the Hyperion's sky facade and create a proper theatre facade and lobby for the theater. Replace the Backlot with a new Subland that's Hollywood themed.

Finish redoing Paradise Pier's queues, rides and place making to feel Victorian.

Replace the old Maliboomer spot and Goofy's Sky School with two new E-tickets/dark rides.

New ending for The Little Mermaid.

Replace the Redwood Creek play area with a new Gold Rush/wood exploration themed E-ticket.

In Hollywoodland add a new mega attraction similar to the Great Movie Ride but a lot more modern. Put it in the plot of land behind Tower of Terror.

Add random programming to Tower of Terror.

They had trouble approving spending for the diamond anniversary. I think many of these will never fly. It's not like they are short on money, but God, this people are cheap.

Well aware of that....i have friends at Disney. I said "MY list of top things I'd change" haha. But yeah, Disney has been very penny pinching.

That honestly is the most horrific rumor Micechat has EVER posted. A mini Marvel land connected to Hollywoodland consisting only of meet and greets?! That's terrifying. Disney should've learned after DCA 1.0 that they have to go big or suffer later financially.

I don't honestly think Disney/TDA is still stupid and cheap enough to actually do this. It would be an incredible PR disaster and not to mention the fact that DCA is finally earning accolades across the board.

If they market Marvel land, people are going to expect RIDES. Especially if there is going to be an (inevitable) price increase. A meet-and-greet Marvel land would be so mind-numblingly stupid, that would ruin DCA's reputation once again. You know better than this Disney, c'mon. Cars Land was the reason why DCA 2.0 was so successful. Hey Disney, here's a history lesson:

-When Spider-man Rocks opened (Chris told me this story at the IU gathering), people thought it was the Spider-man show from IoA. People left outraged, and complained. Look what happened to that show.

-When DCA 1.0 opened, it flopped. Not enough rides, minimal theming. Now they had to spend more denero to fix it.

-Going cheap on Rocket Rodds. You all know what happened. PM track, Circle Vision, both left empty for a few years.

-People complained about the meet and greet overload in New Fantasyland. They were forced to add a ride.

History shows that when you go cheap for now, it will REALLY hurt your financial earnings in the longrun. You'll have to fix it much later. Got it Disney? Build an awesome Avengers ride and/or a cool Iron Man coaster and don't let us down! Mere meet and greets are not the answer. Even Universal while being run by GE knew better than that.

Now I'll get off my soap box.

Disney can build whatever they want with Marvel in the US (as long as it's west of the Mississippi). I think UOR can still build Marvel attractions, but I'm not sure. However you are right about WDW not being able to build Marvel attractions.

CA has the wiggle room of having M&G, Orlando cannot have even that because it's in the East coast and the deal forbids it. Disney can build whatever it wants overseas, but forget about getting Marvel rides in the US. Let's say it's a penis size contest between Universal and Disney. Disney wants the rights to build rides but Universal won't let them go. They are going to put such a steep price on those rights to make the offer impossible to accept. Think of it as the scene in "The Heat" where Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock fight to death to get through the door first. So, DCA cannot get anything more than G&M because legally they can't.

First of all, you're almost entirely INCORRECT and have very FALSE/misinformed information. Just as you so sarcastically told William to do more "research" on DreamWorks, I suggest you do more thorough research on the Universal/Disney/Marvel theme park contracts situation before writing a full monolouge about the "facts". Disney can freely use Marvel in California or west of the Mississippi River in any way. In Orlando, they cannot (but apparently a loop hole is they can use Marvel if Marvel isn't in the name of the attraction and isn't a character Universal has a license for (and they have a huge list) but overall Orlando won't have any major Marvel rides at disney. Same with Japan apparently. California, shanghai, Paris and Hong Kong are fine.

Also......KEEP IT PG-13/PG or at least show some humility/use some discretion in keeping it SOMEWHAT clean. My memes were never like what you just said.

ANYWAY, I'd like to see a Guardians of the Galaxy ride in Tomorrowland.

I stand corrected on the Disneyland thing, it seems, since it's a very complicated contract, that they can build attractions in Disneyland, but that doesn't make me entirely incorrect and i am humble enough to admit it. Second, my comment was PG13. I remind you that you can even say the f word in a movie once and you still are PG13. And third, I will not further discuss with you because as instructed by the administrator, if i have a problem I should address it with him

Oh, and another thing: a meet & greet would count as an attraction in the contract as well, so if what you said was hypothetically true (it's not), DCA wouldn't be able to have a meet and greet either. Another loop hole is that Disney can promote Marvel films in the parks in Orlando, but not certain areas of WDW. Universal was on Disney's hiney recently about a Marvel Avengers wrapped monorail going through the Magic Kingdom. Apparently disney can only promote it on certain sides of the parks, and it can't go through MK at all. The Guardians of the Galaxy preview in Disney Hollywood Studios was just that, a preview. Apparently no effects or anything that would suggest that it's like an attraction. It was just a sneak peak, nothing elaborate whatsoever. Compare that to the Galaxy preview Disneyland currently has, which is basically a temporary attraction. 3D, wind effects, light effects, and the use of Captain EO's motion platform floor. Like a real attraction. That's cuz it was in Disneyland!

And I said ALMOST entirely incorrect. You were right about Florida. Everything else was incorrect. Which is exactly what I said. And you just DID discuss it with me on here, so too late ;) Fine, not PG-13. Just keep it clean overall. No need to bring up direct sexual acts. Innuendos can be humorous on here but just keep it clean. Not being hostile. Just saying in general, buddy.

One thing that I would NOT want to see happen to Tomorrowland is making it exclusively Marvelland or Star Warsland. Both would be moronic ideas, especially in the original Disneyland.

To bring this topic back...

It looks like MiceChat still believes Marvel M&G Land is still coming, but now with a Marvel themed Rock n Roller Coaster clone is coming.

Oh yeah Muppet*Vision is getting a new film and you guys won't believe where Star Wars Land is going now.

I think it would be great if Muppet*Vision got a new film, and having a clone of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in DCA would be cool, but I just don't see any of this happening.

If I was Disney I would just build a 3rd gate featuring Star Wars, Marvel, Avatar, etc.

Thoughts?

*sigh* As usual, I'm gonna take everything MiceChat says with less than a grain of salt. They've been correct about only TWO out of 100 things in the past 4 years. That was the GAC->DAS Card transition, and that Disney has plans for a Diamond themed 60th anniversary with reimagined fantasyland dark rides. Absolutely EVERYTHING else was false overhyped gossip with everything having a wild reason or excuse as to why it is or isn't happening.

With that said, I hope Disney knows better than to shoehorn in Marvel or Star Wars inappropriately throughout the parks.

I wanna see ToonTown stay..

This is the same web site that swore up, down, left, and right that the Subs were closing forever.

Well, it's no secret that the suits don't like the subs because it's very expensive to run them and have a very low capacity. I think they would have been axed if Finding Dory wasn't around the corner. I don't know how big a third gate would be since Disneyland resort is sooo landlocked. They recently bought some land close to the park, but I don't know how big is it and if it's intended for a third gate. If they do open a third gate, they had better make a good one, not a half assed intent like DCA, a mess so big that it's still being corrected today. Give imageeners carte blanche.

Where did you get this "it's not secret the execs don't like the subs" deal?

Only MiceChat has ever spewed that. The TDA executives knew the capacity and workings of the ride before they reopened the ride again with the Nemo theme, it wasn't an "oh wow! We didn't know how this ride would be!" type of deal, the ride is from the 60s. Even Bob Iger a few months back said "the subs aren't going anywhere, it's a very unique experience original to Disneyland." Many E-tickets are a pain in the ass, doesn't mean they need to be removed. Disney makes more than enough money to run the Subs.

Also, DLR has quite enough space for a third park, one that would be around the size of the current DCA, which is not bad at ALL considering what we have to work with. It's the Toy Story Parking Lot and some surrounding space. And Disney will probably slowly but surely buy up more land.

This is one of the few times I sincerely hope there is some truth to this article. I would love to see an Iron Man-themed clone of RnRC over here. I also think Toontown would be an ideal location for Star Wars land as that would be out of the way and draw the crowds back there.
