*Also, this show features the "newer generation" of costumed characters as it has Minney with blinking eyes and moving mouth!

Though mesh is put up to block the monorail's view, Buena Vista Street is shaping up quite well:

Behind the Thrills has a new photo update, and in particular, the following pic is my favorite as it best shows the new skyline you view at the entrance (with Carthay at the center and the Buena Vista Street buildings anchoring the sides).

When I watched the opening ceremony of Disney's California Adventure, I laughed a little. Why you may ask..... Because the park/entrance looks completely different and the "golden dream" theme that they had going on is sort of irrelevant now. And what fascinates me is that this park is only 10 years old and its gotten so many changes. I'm glad that it's different because the whole "golden dreams" lacked disney-ness. lol

It looks like a different park !!!! @ 5:30

They felt the need to make a time capsule to put under Buena Vista Street.

A few recent construction updates and a press release to go through today......

-First of the Disney Parks blog released the following info about food offerings in Cars Land a few days ago
Fill ‘Er Up at Cars Land at Disney California Adventure Park

The food is just as fun at the rest of spectacular Cars Land, with Disneyland Resort chefs having fun in the test kitchens. Here’s a sneak peek at some of their delicious creations debuting this summer.

With design inspired by the kitschy roadside eateries along on Route 66, Flo’s V8 Café starts with old-fashioned, filling breakfast dishes like chicken tamale with scrambled eggs, salsa verde and pico de gallo; or brioche French toast served with salted caramel and bananas. For lunch, we get a taste of the delicious, filling veggie-tater casserole with roasted veggies, bulgur wheat, Boca Crumbles and smashed red skin potatoes topped with melted cheddar. But it’s the sweet pies everyone’s waiting for, including apple-cheddar and cherry.

The adorable Cozy Cone Motel is a quick-service restaurant inspired by the quirky “wigwam” motels along Route 66. In the Cars Land version, each wigwam offers a different filled cone, such as “chili cone carne” or “cone on the cob.” Flavored popcorn is a fun offering at one of the five wigwams, including salt and vinegar, pickle, sweet and spicy, bacon and cheddar, and nacho cheese.

In the “Cars” movie, Fillmore is an advocate of natural products and makes his living by selling organic fuel, so Fillmore’s Taste-In is, appropriately, the spot for fresh fruit, bottled beverages and juices.

Stay tuned for more details – and the recipe for our favorite veggie-tater casserole.

-Micechat posted a few interesting pics of Buena Vista Street in their latest update.

They did the time capsule to show future cast members these were the last days before Meg Crofton got her hands on the California resort.

Great new overview of all new DCA additions (with Radiator Springs Racers POV footage :drool5:)

I only caught about half the video because of my stupid slow internet, but Racers and the Red Cars look amazing. Can't wait for this to open.

MiceChat has posted a great photo update, especially this pic taken from the monorail of the progress of Buena Vista Street.
