Thanks for the pics, Brian! The new Tangled area looks very nicely themed

Not to go off topic, but is there a particular reason why mirrors in theme park bathrooms are apparently becoming a thing of the past? Or are there some in there but not in front of the sinks?

Maybe so people don't spend too much time by the sinks?
There are bathrooms with mirrors by the entrance, but not by the sinks.

The only thing that really disgusts me is the giant construction zone blocking your newest expansion that your heavily advertising. Imagine the Wizarding World opening without the FJ or Hogsmeade. Or how about opening Radiator Springs with the main drag of route 66 still under construction. They just missed the mark completely with this entire project and now the rumbles of sub par numbers support that.

I truly hope someone at Corporate realizes this phased opening crap was a horrible move, and it's better to give 100% to the paying customer up front rather than give them 50% up front with the rest spread out over another 12-16 months. Just seems like poor show from customer service perspective. Like a nickel and dimming situation.

Much agreed...

Well considering that Dwarves was a last minute addition, I can see why it would open later...not THIS much later..but later.

I was happy to be able to ride Mermaid when I was there last January.

My point exactly missed the mark completely. Last minute addition or not they planned on this mess and that's what unacceptable in my opinion. Many large scale theme park additions are last minute switches and are still able to open with there respected additions.

You've summed this up quite well, good sir! When Harry Potter opened you were awestruck at the complete, finished product. New Fantasyland has been a constant tease, and when it's finally complete, people will stand around and go, "What? That's it??"

Give 'em everything, or give 'em nothing.

I mean am I wrong in saying that Disneyland was built in less than a year and that was what nearly 60 years ago..and why does it take one attraction this long to get built with all the advancements we have now??? Just saying.. But none the less it'll be a great addition!

Disneyland when it opened was a far, far cry from what it is today.

I think the reason mirrors are not put in theme park bathrooms is to deter people from blocking the sinks by using the mirrors to fix their hair, put on makeup, etc. Only a theory, but it makes sense to me.

Most fans that have an issue with TLM simply point out it's Nemo's ride with different sets. And some have an issue with "rip-off butterbeer". But I thnk HTF is right about this being the major issue with FLE. Issues the the ongoing construction go well beyond the fans. Guests in the park see that and feel like they are being cheated out of something major in this newly opened area.

The biggest problem with TLM is that it was marketed wrong. I'm confident that no one that goes to DCA had a problem with the ride because it's a nice cute imagining of a classic film that is really a small ride that was an appetizer to Radiator Springs Racer. It was a C ride, marketed as a C ride that the imagineers wanted to make and did it. In Florida however TLM was our major attraction and Test Track was the side dish. TLM is a great ride but it isn't a headliner by any stretch of the imagination and I don't see a small coaster really picking up the slack and become the major attraction that New Fantasyland promises.

It's pretty safe to say that no one, not the people here on these boards, nor the average Disney guest, likes the staggered phase openings of this project. And even a 5 year old kid can tell you that having a construction zone in the middle of your new expansion is dumb. But what I disagree with is how some people are saying that this land is disappointing because it's missing a major ride. Would I've liked to have seen a Beast or Tangled ride? Yes, of course. But I don't think it's necessary. Disney isn't advertising one particular ride as it's centerpiece, it's advertising the FLE as a whole. And once it's done(which is taking a very long time, everyone will admit), when you step back, and take the FLE as a whole for what it is, it's a pretty nice addition for a classic park. 7 Dwarves, Little Mermaid, Belle, even Storybook Circus, may not blow you away like Forbidden Journey, but I believe the average Disney guest will be impressed. I'm not a Disney fanboy, but I like it quite a bit for what it is.

I think that most of the complaints about the FLE are more centered around the fact that this is the first major addition that the MK has gotten in 21 years and it doesn't include a headliner attracrtion and it has taken them a year longer to build this lame attempt at an expansion than it did for them to build ALL of EPCOT Center.

I was there this past Saturday (wow was it busy) and I went into the new bathrooms (needed a diaper change for my LO at the right time) and I am impressed by the bathrooms. I liked the layout inside and how they had two changing tables with one really out of the way that allows a stroller to be parked there. So they did think of everything. If they can continue this path then I see hope for Disney, but if this was a one time thing, then no hope. I was with two GP guests that LOVE Disney and overall they were very impressed with the new areas, but they also thought the construction walls took away a little bit of the magic. But overall they REALLY liked all the new additions including Dumbo and Casey Jr. Soak zone. So I think to the GP Disney made some major changes, but everyone sees that it is lacking with construction walls still there. That is my major one complaint.

You could make that argument, but a part of me just thinks "but it's Fantasyland". I mean, it was never the land to have a headliner it was always a balanced land.

So Peter Pan isn't a headliner?
