I think that was more about how little Teebin actually knew about the USH version, as he admitted himself.

It's not that I knew little about it, but my brain had split the dancing girls scene from the truck rising out of the floor scene, making it two musion sets. Otherwise, I was mostly impressed by the 360 scene... it looks thrilling.

The first scene in Orlando doesn't appear as the first scene in Hollywood, but smaller.

Changing subject now, let me ask some of the naysayers here two questions. How would you feel if one additional large scene was composed of animatronic workers; 1 welding at a bench, 2 polishing a different car, and a fourth removing lug nuts from the tires of a third car and a small musion with two majors arguing plot in the foreground?

or...

How many would rather have a mega coaster themed to F&F that reaches 85 mph at one straight run point with screeching tire effects and smoke and other stuff like that?

I am just curious as to what you would rather have?

I always imagined if they were to do this ride it would be akin to radiator spring racers, but set in a city environment obviously, but is there even enough space for something like that in the area?

That's an odd thing to choose from. For the first one while AA's would be great what you described sounds really boring. I'm not really for just plain coasters but given these two options only I would have to go with the coaster.

I actually am not as offended by the ride vehicles, lack of speed or cloning as I am the terrible dialogue, limp acting, forced story and godawful CGI.

However, adding scenes doesn't actually fix the real reasons this attraction is a non-starter in the first place. So I guess by default option 2 since it throws out all the things I dislike about the USH version.

The AA scene would certainly be a nice improvement. I don't think I'm much of a fan of musion as I once was, they've overused it. Give me the Gringotts main banking hall any day, although I think they do make it work quite well in the Hogwarts queue.

I don't think people realize that for a ride to achieve any kind of speed and offer a ride of more than 15 seconds it would require running it from one end of the park to the other. The illusion of speed is all we could ever expect using the space available.

I really think everyone needs to reserve judgement on this and Fallon and any other project until they actually ride them. Jumping to conclusions now is just pointless...

A mix of both would be the best. F&F just seems perfect for a Test Track/Radiator Springs Racers system.

This is my biggest issue with it. And that's not something that will necessarily be fixed, unless they decide to do re-shoots during Fast 8 taping.

I kind of wish we were getting more than just the simulation of speed for a franchise like F&F, but that isn't as big as the dialogue issue with me. If Uni wants to make the entire park screen attractions, then whatever. But the horrible dialogue is the toughest pill to swallow. I worry about this with Fallon too.

I'm less worried about the writing for Fallon because I assume his team will be the ones doing it. I think the biggest problem with Supercharged is it's the one recent project that had no involvement from the franchise oustisde of the starts showing up to film a few scenes. It's why it feels like a coverband version of the franchise

Sure you can do that. Doesn't mean you'd be right though.

It's 2015. Nobody is impressed by water coming into a subway.

Come on dude. That entire sequence is still extremely impressive, between the water, explosions, runaway train, falling truck, etc. - and the show as a whole continuously draws lengthy queues and high guest satisfaction scores.

Won't wade into the screen debate since all that happens is rampant condescension from the pro side. (Not saying it's everyone, but take a peek around the thread.) Bottom line is, comparing a good screen attraction to a bad physical effects attraction is not a fair comparison. (And calling Seven Dwarfs Mine Train a "screen attraction" is hilariously disingenuous. Light projection mapping elements on faces /=/ screen-dependent attraction.)

It'd be one thing if we were getting a strong screen attraction. I'd have some thoughts about the amount of screen-dependent attractions in the park, but hey, a good ride is still a good ride. But Supercharged is hilariously bad. Terrible acting, scripting, and sequencing - the whole thing feels like a hot mess. So we'll be losing a great attraction for a highly mediocre one.

Eh. Don't get me wrong, I love Disaster. But I'm not sure most normal guests do. Each of the last few times I've been on it 1/2 the tram is empty. And Disaster is a fairly polarizing attraction in the fan community overall.

It'll be a downgrade for me, but I'm not sure it will be for the guests at large

If Universal pluses USH's version just enough the guests will eat it up simply because it's F&F. But if they fail to deliver on an attraction that will be a big draw when it opens, guests may eat it up at first, but they'll spit it out at the end. Doesn't matter if it's the average guest or not.

There's a reason why Stitches Great Escape has consistent 5 minute waits. It sucks and everyone knows it (or at least they do by the time they get out).

I'd be more interested in a setup that uses a combination of physical sets and 3D screens to create an illusion of depth and of a larger space -- something like what's rumored for Kong. To me, that sounds like a very promising use of 3D technology.

Also, I gotta say complaints about an attraction's script are moot. For the most part, theme parks scripts aren't great. Haunted Mansion and the Simpsons might be the exceptions that prove the rule.

I can only imagine if the script of F/F "ruins" the ride for you, then you must hate Mummy, T2, ET, Gringotts...basically every ride/show in the parks.

You're probably right on that, after the hype dies down this could get 30 minute waits on busy days then be dead on any other day due to capacity and lack of interest.

Gringotts pre-show script is actually pretty strong, with the on-ride dialogue being merely competent. Terminator 2 and ET work fine. Mummy... well Mummy's problems go beyond just its script.

Your point is well taken, but I think Fast and Furious is above-and-beyond level of terrible. Like, worse than people even expect for the franchise. It's just *awkward.*

AHHHHHH I have no idea exactly what the plans are but I hate it because of what I read on the internet AHHHHHHHHH Screens AHHHHHHH This will be Universal's Downfall. AHHHHH!!!!!!!!"
Lol. Calm Down, it's not that serious.

I don't think anyone is doing that or thinks it's serious. This is a theme park forum, nothing is truly "serious".

Now now... 30 max ever a year after it opens? I think that is borderline snarky.

What I really wonder is how they solved the accurate stops problem in Hollywood, or if they ever did. Do the drivers occasionally mess up still? How might they solve that on this one in Orlando I wonder? Hmmmm... :look:

Why, are the Orlando vehicles going to be manually driven? Isn't/wasn't that the problem in Hollywood?
