What we're all saying is simulator fatigue is something that affects USF parkgoers more than I think Universal knows. Maybe they need to start asking different questions on their surveys at the end of the day and get a better gauge.

For me it's not the fact that it's a simulator and screenz and fatigue, but doing the cheap out option. The technicalities are different, but the ideas are the same behind both "Supercharged" and "Frozen Ever After". It'll do what it needs to do but in the end it's the short end of the stick for a franchise that probably deserves more.

Although the way Teebin mentioned "godawful stereotype" and keeps mentioning the sheer insane amount of actual cars featured in the queues and the exit... I haven't seen a single F&F movie so you can't call me a fan of any kind so I really wouldn't know, but is the #1 appeal for F&F really the cars themselves? Really?

LOL, I dislike this franchise so much that I didn't really pay close attention to the Hollywood footage.

For some reason I thought there were more show scenes but there is really only 2 in hollywood. The Musion and the 360.

The good news might be that there appears to be 2 or 3 more scenes that I cannot explain on this attraction. I don't know if they will contain something that happens or if they are just static like that first scene in Hollywood. That said, I can't really explain them. Finally, there is something being called a scene between 360 and unload.

Don't get your hopes up... but I thought I would let you know. Hollywood would call Orlando's queue an attraction unto itself.

I'll just say this; No matter what, Screens are here to stay. Hell; you can technically call all the recent WDW attractions screen based (Seven Dwarf, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Enchanted Tales, the upcoming Frozen attraction...it will, StarTours 2.0, E.t.c..)

No way you can call those screen based. I can accept uni using screens, but that comparison is ridiculous. Utilizing screens to enhance the experience is a lot different than the screen being the experience. Even Frozen will have advanced AA and practical sets. It's a water based ride.

I'd have to respectfully disagree due to Projecting mapping technology.

Well atleast that actually makes me more fine for Fast and Furious.

For those of you just joining us: They are demolishing a ride based on a segment of the USH tram tour, and replacing it with the same.

yes, but if we compare it to Disney terms....not everything can be an "E-Ticket", especially when they're investing so much in so many areas. I don't just mean investing money, but also time and resources (construction crews)

I understand that not everything can be an E-ticket, but then Disaster fits the bill even more perfectly. It's not an E, but it's also something the whole family can do.

And supposedly completely replacing a ride system based off the tram with a completely new ride system based off the tram. Maybe the subtitle of this ride should be : How to waste millions of dollars.

Really? Then why is the E-Ticket for Avatar a screen simulator? Why is the E-Ticket for Star Wars going to be a screen-based ride?

Screens are the future and you can kick and scream all you want, but it's happening.

The difference is that, outside of Star Tours, Disney doesn't really have any screen based attractions at the moment (unless you want to count Muppets and Tough to be a Bug) in either of those two parks. Star Tours is it. At Universal, they run rampant.

You can't compare a practical sets based attraction that utilizes screens to a screen-based ride that utilizes practical sets. They're two different beasts.

So many are panicking, and we don't even know what the final attraction is going to look like. Even Teebin has partly changed course since there's aspects, "2 or 3 more scenes that I cannot explain on this attraction" (Teebin's words), that he initially confused with the Hollywood version. This may or may not be considerably plussed from the Hollywood version. Fact is right now we don't know. Let's give Universal Creative the benefit of the doubt at this point in time, and put the pitchforks away, until we know a little more of what's happening for sure. Bottom line, right now we really don't know much.

With the amount of land they are using for this, there is no way this is a simple clone. This is a huge franchise for Universal and it will draw people, I'm sure they've got something up their sleeves.

I hope you are right... but the insiders saying it's a clone aren't helping.

Regardless of whether USF's version of the attraction is a pure clone or a slightly plussed iteration, the real issue is that the F&F franchise naturally lends itself to a big, high-speed racing ride that would go a long way towards balancing out the variety of experiences USF currently offers. The park could actually use a giant, practical thrill ride; the last thing it needs (especially in light of Fallon being on the way) is another simulator-style attraction that - even if plussed - will almost certainly be an inferior version of the kind of grand experience Kong is likely going to offer over in IOA (i.e. a greatly expanded version of a Hollywood tram component utilizing a 360 section).

I get that - for business reasons - Universal wants to capitalize on the Fast and Furious franchise as quickly as possible, but there's so much more they could do with that I.P. than what we seem to be headed for.

I'm just going to say this,

I'm more just interested to see the Final Product. I think it could be fun with some interesting elements.

I'm a little less dismayed now that @Teebin says there are three or four mystery scenes, that seems to indicate that this may hopefully be something more of an upgrade akin to Reign of Kong.

Stop with the circular logic screens talk. There are many good discussions to have about this attraction, the same noise over and over again adds nothing to the conversation. If we start repeating the same discussion as we had in Kong I'll lock the thread.

The Disaster ride system is nearly dead, replacing the ride system and changing the attraction is not wasting money, it's a good idea.

So very true. Even the best rumors from the best sources are sometimes wrong. At this point I think there is still a lot of mystery to this and there is a lot of potential for this to be a good attraction.

I think the fact that we've gone from direct clone to "two to three extra scenes," shows how much uncertainty there is.

I have every reason to believe that this will be upgraded and changed from the USH tram attraction.

I think that was more about how little Teebin actually knew about the USH version, as he admitted himself.
