I think when people (me included) talk of the dream of this being a TT ride system we (I) don't literally mean TT's ride system... just something closer to an "actual" car would be nice... and I think part of it being reasonably fast and outside would be nice too...

This has just reminded me of the G Force ride at Old Town. I remember when that opened that it would make a great F&F type ride. Capacity would obviously be a major factor and it's been removed for a reason.

Is it me or is it kinda funny that RSR the ride based on Pixar's Cars.... a franchise for Children will reach much much higher speeds than the F&F attraction,,,imagine going back in time and telling yourself that 5 years ago :lol::lol::lol:

I only found out about this a few weeks ago but the history of TT and RSR is quite interesting:

POV:

This will probably also be faster than F&F.

This. I don't want a ride called "The Fast and the Furious: Supercharged" to be... slow... and not furious.

I had a dream the other night that this attraction and Kong were equals. Amazing. Incredible. Immersive.

Kong disappointed due to overhype.
Fast impressed due to dismissals.

I'm not thrilled with what I know of the ride system, but for me the attraction is a win. It's beautifying a massive chunk of the park and replacing a dud. Not to mention the crowds it will EAT during HHN.

I trust Universal will make a worthwhile attraction.

Good golly, man: that ride was AWFUL! I now fully understand why it was removed. Everything about it was half-assed and so unlike Disney it's not funny.

I don't why this reminded me of this quote:

Anyone can build a bridge that stands, it takes an engineer to build a bridge that barely stands...

That volume of water probably had a massive amount of pressure when released. I've seen what walls of water can do, so I'm not surprised at how strong that was built. my question, is it taking longer than anticipated? It looks like that thing was built as strong as a dam.

I'm not sure if its strength or working towards the back because of its closeness to the HE track

It's literally inches from the HE track. They've delicately cut around those bits and it will likely be the absolute last thing to go.

It's interesting to see the demolition of this and Catastrophe Canyon. Similar rides built pretty differently.

Latest rumour from screamscape:

I’m still hearing that Fast & Furious: Supercharged may indeed have quietly been pushed back to a 2018 opening date. Why the delay? If this is all true, it may have something to do with a demolition issue involving the old Disaster attraction building. As we've seen from various photo reports online at other sites, a section of the old Disaster / Earthquake building is still standing, while everything else all around it has been leveled. From the look of things, this section of the building is also standing VERY CLOSE to the new Hogwarts Express elevated railway. I wouldn't want to speculate any more than that, but I’m sure taking this last section down is something that will have to be done with some care.

While I don't know if I believe the delays as I imagine they knew they would have ever this issue. I also don't see an issue with a 2018 opening. It makes sense really, what else is opening in 2018? However from the day disaster closed to the day this opens is going to be a pretty long timeline for a ride.
