Doomsday, is my response to your statement about popularity. Popularity has never been the only reason they bring in an IP.

- Dracula Untold
- From Dusk Til Dawn
- Wolfman (Pre-release)
- The Thing (re-make)

Hell, Cabin in the Woods isn't even a big IP.

They have a knack for marketing movies with houses. Just cause it's not super popular doesn't mean it's not a viable choice.

As much of a hunk of crap that film was (not sure about house?), it was a movie distributed by Universal, so at least it makes a miniscule amount of sense.

That house was the one of the worst things that year if not the worst.

This isn't the first time I've seen this argument, but my curiosity is piqued. TV shows (especially now) don't actively compete with each other over viewership. Someone who watches a dramatic show with horror elements on Sundays at nine is not unable to watch a horror show with drama elements on Wednesdays at ten. Even being on separate channels, the two shows are not in direct competition. The audiences have a lot of overlap, but bringing in both doubles the incentive to attend for those who watch both while extending an interest for those who only watch one. They're not mutually exclusive.

I know I have seen folks around here say the the AHS IP holder was difficult to work with and at some point last year I am pretty sure I was talking to someone that told me something that made sense to me, but I doubt it was someone with inside info.

They told me that the AHS creator didn't want to share the bill with TWD. I could see them not wanting to go against a very prpulsr TV show (as a TV show).

When I think back to the year that TWD was a house and all the Zones...well I hated that, hated hearing the theme music all night...but I think I would enjoy a show like AHS done in that manner (even a show like Grimm).

Now I could easily see an artist wanting to have UNI present their work in that manner...so it is easy for me to imagine that an artist might know what TWD had that one year and they would try and get a deal like that while not wanting to share the spotlight with another TV show.

But this is me just dreaming up a reason as to why we wouldn't see AHS and TWD in the same year.

Ryan Murphy isn't your normal creator. He's notoriously difficult to deal with.

Just watched the first episode of Preacher. I didn't realize its on AMC... could this be the mega house? I could see AMC and/or Universal wanting to continue the parthnership and one of the characters had an issue called Preacher: The Story of You-Know-Who. Just throwing this out there. Also if this property is being used maybe it is both coasts because of Rogan's involvement and Murdy doing This is the end last year?

What about a P&T branded show--have them do an introductory video, cycle through magicians from their various reality shows? Just a theory. While HHN has gotten away from them in recent years, for a while magic shows were a crowd-absorbing staple.

The only way I would be okay with TWD in any capacity would be 1 scare zones worth of it. In fact they could bring The Purge back as a scare zone again, that way each IP is covered at the event

That would probably work best, if what's being discussed with P&T has anything to do with HHN.

Yeah the tumors of P&T show were because they were spotted in MCO...

On the other hand P&T do host a very popular tv show based around having other magicians perform...

It was that and also that they had no show times on their calendar during the HHN period. I wonder if anyone has gone back to see if they added showtimes or not.

Checking the official site, looks almost like business as usual for them in both September and October. Nightly shows, with Thursdays and Fridays off. However, in the last week or so of October, they only perform once from the 23-31 and that's on Thursday Oct 27th (for what it's worth).
