Hah. Thought this exact thing last night. Saw a full-on Ghostface (mask, robes, etc.), Harley Quinn, Joker, etc.
We saw a Wilma and Fred Flinstone. A woman dressed as Nel dancing on Delancy, a group dressed as Stranger Things characters, etc … so we were also curious what happened to the costume rule. Lol.

I don't mind if they are relaxing on this rule
but it is going to suck if they start cherry picking who they kicked out, because that happened in 2019.
in 2019 you literally saw families dressed like in ancient Greek toga costumes or like Egyptian style costume, but I remember a girl being escorted out for wearing a doctor who dress (maybe it was someone here?) I remember reading that somewhere, I think on Facebook people were complaining or not being allowed to go inside dressed like a pirate or something as well.

that's always the problem lol. we see people in costumes at the park, but you never know who gets allowed or not.

The reason I'm in favor of the rule is because guests are "dumb", and may confuse another costumed guest as an employee/scareactor. The wrong interaction may cause bigger problems and stricter rule changes, where even light "bounding" may even get canned.

yeah, that's why I wonder if costume guests are hotel guests or if they change inside the park or bring the stuff in a bag

and back in 2014 or 2015, I remember a guest had his face painted at the park and he was scaring people around the streets. so I understand wat you mean
this guy was jumping at people and acting like an actor but not in a zone. it was clearly a guest. I never forgot

Mannn I wish I’d known, I would have busted out a sweet People Under the Stairs Daddy costume:

:bolt:

no joke, some weeks ago there was a goth girl with a bandage mouth mask made of leather and spikes lol. no one really noticed it was bandage type, but I did lol
looked like the lower half of this mask

i have seen people wear these masks instead of cloth masks which is funny. but I don't get how they are allowed in
I bring it up because is been different times. makes it look like an actor

Looking at the app, tonight looks on par with if not slightly busier than the last couple Wednesdays. Puppet Theatre and Beetlejuice are currently 75 and 70 minutes respectively with Wicked Growth, Scarey, and TCM over an hour. Tooth Fairy and Case Files have the lowest waits at 35 and 40. Tomorrow has potential to be the busiest Wednesday yet with Thursday's weather forecast looking wet.

Yeah, everyone--including me--who predicted a somewhat slower Tuesday totally whiffed. Did start slow, I had high hopes around 7, but by 8 the crowds poured in (and were still coming it at a steady pace at 10:30). Note for future years.

Universal probably left a lot of money on the table not opening at least the past two Tuesdays. I might delay the event to mid or even late September again, then just go 6 nights a week in October.

Tonight is the worst Wednesday yet for posted waits. At 10:30, nothing is below 55 minutes, and Beetlejuice has the highest wait at 95 minutes followed by Wicked Growth at 80.

Yup, and dumb/drunk guests love jumping in front of scareactors and being jerks by trying to “scare” them, doing something stupid and running, etc.

Do that stuff to the wrong paying guest and it could turn from just you getting talked to by security/possibly kicked out of the park into a physical altercation where you end up in jail.

hhn already had a big fist fight a couple of Fridays ago in the hill house line lol.
it was in the Spanish news and everything. brawl at hhn lol.

the nightmare fire show gets fully packed even 30 minutes before it starts. as soon as they open to let u in, it quickly fills to capacity

Maybe a stupid question: Was the small piece of wall with a gargoyle on top and a small lit-up tent always near SS 22A? Because I just noticed that there tonight and was curious if it was just a break area or if some kind of BTS footage was being filmed there?

Additionally, just a fun little aside that as we went into the park yesterday, I happened to spot Charles walking by near Seek & Destroy and said hi to him. Was awesome to see the creative team out and about!

SS22 is used as the break room for all soundstage houses this year.

Something that I've been noticed about the victim scare actors is that they also share a boo hole with costumed scare actors. I noticed one in the same area as Meaty Meetz in SCarey, and one in the same double boo hole for the tentacle creature in Case Files

Adding to the "no costume" discussion...

I saw some pics pop up on my Twitter TL today of someone dressed as Chance. Not like "bounding" or "inspired by", but full-out current costume and make-up. If that's not enough of a costume that could get confused with scareactors, then I don't know what is.

I wasn't gonna post Every single time I saw a costume and I didn't wanna double post since I mentioned the costume stuff before. but this week I saw some crazy stuff,
so I have seen a few couples wear these suits

but okay, you can argue thats just clothing,
but the past two days I have seen some women wear this type of mask:

NTYyLhQ.jpg

the suit and mask combination makes it look like an actor and the mask hides their identity

but the reason I'm making this post and the reason I am continuing the costume conversation is because tuesday I saw a small group of friends wearing a full entire face mask. the mask looked like face paint at first, I thought it was face paint until one of the guys took it off to drink.

so that means that they went through security with these masks in their bags or something and they walked around the park full masked,
if I could have taken a photo I would have lol.
I swear I saw them! it was 2 guys with these masks, walking around. and the lady wearing the eye mask
they did the 11 pm lagoon show on Tuesday. maybe they were uni employees?

Something is definitely amiss here in terms of enforcement. If I can't tell in passing if someone is a scare actor or guest, that's a problem. The person in question absolutely resembles a scare actor at first glance. This is not going to end well, especially when many of these folks become outwardly hostile when the rule is brought up.

It's the end of the run, so I suppose it is what it is for this year - but here's hoping they're more aggressive about enforcement next season.

Sunday halloween night is gonna be interesting, might be wild. I'm definitely anticipating crazy stuff.

I think the allowing of covid protection masks is creating a loophole where people are sneaking costume things, and they might even claim is for protection. even if the mask doesn't even cover the mouth,

Friday and Saturday might be normal but I'm very curious of Sunday, I'll be there,
