Honestly, I don't think there's that much uncertainty - especially with CDC guidelines loosening. I think it's just a weird year and that they'll potentially announce most of the houses all at once.

If Orlando wanted to, they could always just announce original content while they wait for Hollywood.

That's doubtful, but nobody knows for certain. It's pretty much unofficially confirmed that Hollywood is now getting 6 houses, 1 scare zone, and the Terror Tram (based on a leaked confidential survey and new tent construction in publicly viewable areas) so their event seems to be moving forward as a full event, albeit with fewer attractions. It seems extremely likely that one of the 6 houses will be Beetlejuice and Orlando already went ahead and announced that without them, so the "Waiting for Hollywood" reasoning doesn't seem likely. However some think Hollywood might be holding up the announcements. Others think it just might be a "best practices" thing until the event gets closer to avoid the risk of having to change the plans after announcing them. People like me think it's probably more of a logistical issue with figuring out the capacity for ticket sales and working out how the multiday tickets will work and you don't want to keep announcing houses when people can't have a kneejerk reaction to buy tickets right then and there. Some think it's working out kinks with virtual queues as they'll be used at the event. And I think probably the majority of people think that there's no rush and they don't want to take away any of the attention on Velocicoaster and a bi-weekly rollout of announcements will start a couple weeks after the ride officially opens. EDIT: And I forgot the going back to how they used to announce stuff in one big dump and them just announcing everything else in late summer, that's another popular opinion.

But they're all guesses. So to really answer your question, "COULD it be due to Hollywood uncertainty?" Absolutely. Does anybody have any kind of solid information that's the case? Absolutely not.

I'm hoping for updated Spec Maps soon since Hollywood has surely changed from the 2 house HHN Lite plans before and our Map only has the one show but auditions seem to indicate that there will be two, confusion over the two different Creepshow appearances, and the unknown original SZ, plus the scareactor try outs and hiring so it seems like there should be some more info ready to plug into the map and serve as an "unofficial" announcement for us diehards.

I think it's because of a majority of factors, but Velocicoaster does seem like a valid reason and we are still super early and on schedule so we just have to be patient

All we know is that scareactors are hired, Beetlejuice is announced, and Hollywood is building their event so HHN this year is getting closer and closer to happening every day. They're in the contingency phase of planning. They have a full event planned, but likely have multiple mitigations based off of the number of cases as we get closer to the event. Every industry is doing the same thing with their return to work plans.
