It's like going to the Super Bowl and seeing some inanimate wall art and everybody falling in love with it...and thinking at the next Super Bowl someone in said wall art costume was going to do the coin flip...and halftime show...and interview the Super Bowl MVP afterwords.

It's crazy and, to a degree, insulting to the team that developed the event and vended out external house dressing to others and one particular piece becoming the object of everybody's desire. They worked on the event for a year and this tiny fraction of an after thought overshadows all the work they did to pull off a successful event during a pandemic.

I get where you're coming from but also this is just how entertainment works, man. You'll put all of your heart and soul into one thing, but the thing you didn't even think about is what gets everyone's attention.

But it's not like that's a bad thing. Nobody is going to ignore all of the houses and the work that goes into them because of the funny little pumpkin man brah

Here at the parks right now, got a pretty decent view of Sprung 1 from Simpsons. Facade is a bricky subway station, says 'National Subway Station's from what I could read.

Meh. This is nothing new. People latch onto silly little things basically every year. HHN Bear, Lil Boo, Pumpkin Lord, etc. It doesn't take away from how much praise the rest of the event gets. People still love the houses and whatnot. They just like additional things as well because said team puts their heart into this stuff and has fun with it, so fans end up appreciating some of the smaller things as well as the big picture. It's usually from the team's original work as well while the IPs get the love from the general audience. Hell, fans latched onto two alone from one single house last year (Wicked Growth with Pumpkin Lord & Lil Boo). If anything that shows how much the team's hard work is appreciated by fans rather than neglected. Even the finer details of their work are being praised.

Plus, I'd much rather fans latch onto an inanimate object than obsess over an actual scareactor. HHN embracing the character the following year simply because it happens to fit the theme is a nice little nod of respect to fans without harming anything.

Earl the Squirrel is another example outside of HHN.

Has to be. Even if it wasn't "Descendants of Destruction" on the HNN spec. map i'll bet it is.

I just checked the spec map. I never remember which tent is which by number, idk which is 1 or 2 lol, but the spec map does have Descendants of Destruction in the spot that Puppet Theater was in last year. I remember last year people could see the facade for that from Animal Actors as well!

Dr Mary Agana aka Bloody Mary would like you to go say her name infront of the mirror. She'll tell you a Tale of Terror about how Universal got screwed over resulting in her being trapped in the mirror realm for all eternity (...eternity)

True but it also meant she’s the only icon not shoehorned into being one of Fear’s play toys so…

No. I don't think you quite understand. Universal can ONLY use Dr Mary Agana, but can't use Bloody Mary herself because the evil twat they worked with put a copyright on her

love, love is better than hate. people are feeling happiness and joy over a lil' pumpkin head.
this was born, born out of love, and joy, and happiness. how can Love, be insulting?fandom created literally from love and joy that the fans had over an item ( a prop) that gets ignored by 90% of people (even ignored by ME originaly)
Lil boo was so small and mundane. it was one pumpkin among many. nothing terribly special. it literally grew, out of fans' love.
love is better than hate, better than apathy. lil boo made people happy. it caused joyfor fans . im sure the hhn team is happy

Figured it's worth posting here, to give a little idea of how much HHN is going to incorporate the park this year, one of the people behind the mobile game commented that it was hard finding locations to use for the game because of how much the event is using this year.

Poltergeist was in 25, 22 was first year of Stranger Things and Ghostbusters.

That's somewhat the point, it's basically the HHN version of a Minion...it's a bit tongue and cheek...it's not like the scarezones are scary or anything lol

Although this does make me nervous that theme park people on Twitter may get a big(ger) head about it all

But every dollar spent on Lil Boo merch goes back into the parks...so...I say DO IT UNIVERSAL

To be clear, I have literally no idea if there will be a Lil Boo scare actor, and I don’t want to discount the possibility. However, if they were to try it, they would have to be on a stage. They’d be mobbed nonstop.

I was thinking something like Sam from Trick-R-Treat zone and houses, but with Lil Boo, except on a platform and away from the crazed fans

Oh that's not true, people were all over Twitter tallying up how many times they went through the icons house, and what icon they got. At the same time making fan art manga's about love affairs between the Pumpkin Lord and Boris Shuster....all while simping over Eddie.

If you ask me it was all very much over-generous as last year felt pretty tired (minus Wicked Growth and Hill House)

If someone on the HHN team feels unappreciated they can go work at a Target and I will gladly take any of their places

And finally we will have a Paula Cole house

I respect where Neo is coming from, but really appreciate this sentiment. I also believe it to be a positive reflection of the fandom and effort that goes into the event. It’s the small details, and attention to detail that keeps me coming back for consecutive nights every year. That something so obscure can become the object of affection is a testament to the love that is put into these houses.
