Regarding TLOU… the original rumor I heard last year was HBO approached Universal to do a house. Show got delayed. House turned into Descendants of Destruction and HBO/WB offered Evil Dead Rise as a replacement.

Then Evil Dead Rise got delayed.

Last of Us has a lot of good material they could work with from the game and the show, it seems they could go the route they did with RE not too gimmicky but give it the same intensity but also have the same feeling of how the Silent Hill house had.

Evil Dead Rise honestly makes a better replacement, hopefully its not too late for them to acquire it for this year.

This is not to say that the two can't exist together but.....

You know what, I am kind of saying that..seems a bit overkill

M3gan is pretty different though (and especially so from the Chucky tv series) other than the surface level obvious, what makes the movie so good is they really carved their own lane for her. I wouldn't say two masked killers are the same thing. I would say the promotion opportunity of having them together would be great.

I wouldn't mind em both being at the event or one at the event and the other to follow, both are good contenders for the event and promoting wouldn't be hard in the slightest, marketing would probably have fun with em in merchandising em.

Just saw M3GAN last night. It was a fun movie and got some genuine laughs out of me - and I could see it coming eventually. However, I don't think it's strong enough to carry a house on its own, it would definitely a better fit for another Blumhouse mashup.

I know it's been mentioned to have The Exorcist 2023 in a mashup, but I think they'd want to dedicate an entire house to that if it came.

I fear that M3GAN will be the "Freaky" counterpart to another Blumhouse property that saves the house ala the Black Phone.

I'm not saying M3gan is/isn't coming or should/shouldn't come - but the casting for that house sounds like a real PAIN for a property that'll be moderately successful. Doesn't seem worth the trouble, IMO.

I'd argue that M3gan's look is actually a benefit to casting her in a house.

She wares a dress that covers much of her body, and they'd likely do a mask/wig for her anyway. Honestly, they could likely cast any gender to play her, as long as they're smaller of stature.

The thing about Megan.....
If they use replica masks, it will be one of the coolest, greatest houses we ever had.
If they just cast blonde actresses without masks, it will be worse than Freaky.
Coming face to face with M3gans face is something I would really love to see. With her actual face
Even if it's a mash up house, I wanna see m3gans creepy robot face. If they can't use masks then it's just a sequel to freaky.
Height doesn't even matter. If the masks are close to the movie. M3GAN has such an unique and interesting face. Very very iconic. Like Chucky. Like Anabelle
It needs a mask. It just needs it. Literally needs it to be good.

I haven't seen M3gan, just the trailers, so if this makes no sense feel free to stop me.

What if instead of worrying so much about finding sub 5ft actors, the house put you in the shoes of the child, Katie? Then the actors would only need to be slightly shorter than the average guest, and the "adults" from the film would just need to be a little taller.

Remembering now all those Game of Thrones rumors and it really seems like they've been trying to get an HHN house off the ground for a while.

The Game of Thrones “rumors” were some of my own speculation that got way out of hand. The discussions that Universal had about the IP never exceeded a “wouldn’t this be cool.” HBO was never involved in it.

I mean, amazing. WB agrees to let the world's second largest theme park company pay for the privilege of advertising their properties for them and somehow manages to flub that deal twice.

At least we know certain HBO/Max properties didn't come due to dysfunction rather than intransigence. Means future properties on that platform (Hellraiser TV) might be gettable in the future.

It was over 5 foot, yes. M3gan would need to be Sam (from Trick r Treat) sized - doable, but not easy.

And yeah, the La Lloronas (both in the maze and street) experienced some of the most severe, frequent abuse I've ever seen at the event.

That could make for an interesting experience. Pretty sure something similar was done for the Chucky house in 2009.

Recapping what the speculation has been this far and likely IPs this year:

Chucky: Announced

Universal Monsters: Pretty much a lock.

Blumhouse: Likely, given they have options.

Evil Dead Rise: Possible, but it’s likely WB would want this to be the March/April announcement if it is coming to draw Box Office from it. If it’s not announced early, I wouldn’t count on it. But that’s just me…

The Last Of Us: Unknown, but I could see it. If Evil Dead Rise does not come this year, as Legacy said this was the inital rumored IP last year.

Scream: Not happening unless a huge change of heart happens with rightsholders.

The Weeknd: not a clue one way or the other.

Of course there are many other possible IPs that can come to light that haven’t been discussed, I’m just summarizing the most likely/ most frequently brought up IPs thus far.

This is all my own opinion with no insider info just gathering what I PERSONALLY think given what has been posted.

If this is the list Universal can pull from, those 5-6 IP Slots fill up quite fast. I can see a big change and a curveball or 2 thrown as we see every year I’ve attended for the last decade.
