You are including mazes from before Murdy into that. Those being Monsterquarium, and Area 51.

Clive Barker, Cryptkeeper, and The Undertaker I do not count as they go into similar paths of that they are from a creative artist, that being similar to Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath and Slash.

Clive Barker has been multi-media, while Cryptkeeper is from Tales of The Crypt, and that The Undertaker was apart of the WWE.

And that I was refering to Murdy Horror Nights, not before 2006.

All of this negativity is really pathetic.

1. You guys are aiming everything straight down range at John which isn't fair. He's not the only one carrying all of HHN on his back it's a major team effort.

2. None of you had this much of an opinion until TCM came into play. It's one maze, jeez calm down.

3. Stop judging this year till you actually complete at least one maze. You're hearing the unofficially confirmed IPs and flipping out about this year already.

Everybody has there opinions but they mean almost nothing until you actually experience the maze. I love a great friendly debate but this is just crazy.

What? Alex and co. have every right to discuss as they please and share their opinions. There is no need to get flustered because they disagree with you. If you love a great friendly debate, then I suggest you be prepared for moments when no one will come to an agreement. Being mad because someone won't agree with you - now THAT'S pathetic.

Anyways back on topic, I have a feeling next year we'll get Asylum for AHS as I don't think the next season being "Election Year" will have much potential. I know it's Murdy's fav season (as is mine) so I hope he puts his heart out into this.

I remember reading back that it was either Knotts or USO that caught backlash because of one of their mazes "inappropriately" displaying the mentally ill, something along the lines of that. Seeing how Asylum isn't too keen on that idea, I really wonder how Murdy can counter that so he can not only please the fans but also block potential outcry.

As someone who went through the actual attraction at Knotts last year before it got closed down, it barely had any similarities to a mental institution. If it wasn't for the name, it could have easily passed off as a hospital-themed attraction. However, with AHS, I'm sure Murdy can get away with the fact that it's based on a tv show and that any offended criticisms shouldn't be directed at the park, since it's not a concept developed from the minds of those involved with the event.

I believe both, hmm.. you make a good point there, there's always that risk of the sensitive. However, seeing as it is in the nature of the show, and the season's villains/ monster's aren't the mentally ill (ala aliens, serial killers, etc.) hopefully Murdy can fit it into the environment without causing a stir.

Okay then.

What do you think drew Murdy to do Roanoke and not Asylum this year? Still wrapping my head around that.

I doubt that when Asylum gets it's own maze, that there will be scareactors playing mental patients. I'm sure the scares will come from Bloody face, Dr. Arden, the raspers, aliens, the possessed guy from the exorcism episode, possessed Sister Mary Eunice, and Shachath.

I was thinking that they could NOT include any patients in Asylum or have them stand and wander in a certain scene similar to The Preacher from The Exorcist as he would not do much but get uncomfortably close to the guests. I feel as if Murdy said "lol" and backed out from Asylum to see how Orlando executes it for this exact reason. I may be wrong but it seems like the only logical reason for why he pushed it back. Not for the sake of favoritism but for the sake of not causing controversy. Despite that, people are still okay with psychopaths with a hockey mask butchering teenagers so that's fine :)

Edit: I somehow screwed the quote.

Roanoke is the most recent, and that it will be easier to have people remember something that came from the previous season more in-depth. I think what's going to be next, is Coven; and that Murdy is going to save Asylum.

And that's if he is still the CD of Horror Nights next year.

In all honesty, I think the reason Murdy went with Roanoke was because it was the most recent season. Since it's still fresh, compared to Asylum and Coven, it will have more of an attractive draw to non-AHS fans.

EDIT: what Alexshow just said

Do you think that they took notes from Orlando's "better" AHS approach in a maze?

I think the only down-side of Asylum as a maze are the smells. If y'all thought last year AHS maze was bad with the scents, especially towards the end of the Hotel section, I can only imagine the variety of stomach-churning stenches Asylum will utilize.

I honestly thought the smells were... tasty? Murder House smelled like BBQ and it made me hungry too. It's TCM that made me sick but yeah, I can't imagine how Asylum would turn out.

The only smells that stood out to me were the gingerbread in Krampus, pumpkin in Halloween, feces at the beginning of Exorcist and in AHS. TCM smelled sort of similar to the last two, and I honestly don't remember the scents in Freddy vs Jason.
