Out of curiosity I decided to watch Megan Is Missing and I really, really wish I hadn’t because that is going to stay with me for an extremely long time if not for life. That may sound over the top, but, I really don’t think I’ve ever been so uncomfortable with a movie from start to finish.

That was honestly one of the most disturbing films I have ever seen in my entire life.

My god. I just read the wiki plot on this and nope. Nope nope. This feels like it would be a “Requiem for a Dream” type world-view breaker.

Went to read the Wiki plot as well and yep, that’s pretty much it. The dialogue and imagery makes it a lot worse, paired with how cheaply it was made, the entire time I really felt like I was not supposed to be seeing that. Even thinking back on it is anxiety inducing, it’s one of the rare movies I refuse to ever watch again and will never recommend anyone else watching.

I wish I had the foresight to read about it before because I never would’ve watched it had I known just how brutal it would be and how far it would go. I will not be making that same mistake again with anything else I choose to watch this season.

I sort of know Megan is Missing thanks to the youtuber YMS/Your Movie Sucks. I remember that I used to find his review to be pretty funny; but I haven’t checked with that guy (or hell the whole “angry youtube critic” scene) for a long time.

I don’t know if it’s a problem with me in particular, but I just cannot get into Halloween 1978. Maybe the movie’s just too slow for me. I did find this pretty interesting article from 2013 about the various transfers for this film over the years.

EDIT: Just watched it again and it’s definitely a pacing thing; the second half is a HELL lot more interesting.

I know plenty of people who are unmoved by HALLOWEEN, so you're not alone. I happen to think it's a masterpiece, but other opinions exist.

HALLOWEEN's one of those movies that has just never looked consistent in the DVD/Blu-ray era in terms of the color timing. Even versions supposedly approved by Dean Cundey, the cinematographer, vary wildly. The new 4K release from Scream Factory is supposedly very good.

I think I enjoyed Halloween II more, though I only saw the TV Cut of that film. Bill Tramer’s death alone.

A Nightmare on Elm Street 1984 suffers from this too. I own both the original and infinifilm DVDs versions of the film; the latter (which was used for the blu ray) in terms of color timing is noticeably more blue and muted for some reason. Apparently it’s the same thing with some of the sequels from what I heard. And unlike Halloween, there’s no way to know which one is the “true version” which annoys me.

Which is barely a decade old, right? And this is supposed to be a direct sequel? The tone I'm getting here is that the events of the original movies happened in the distant past but 10 years is pretty recent, all things considered. It's like they want a Halloween '18-esque time jump. Unless they're ignoring continuity or something? Such a weird trailer.

Also, I can tell this gonna be so tedious -- there's nothing more dull than watching people text or Google something on screen. Total waste of a movie camera haha.

Anybody know any streaming services that have a fair amount of horror films? Not that the service is specifically horror-based, last time I tried Shudder I was pretty disappointed with the lineup.

Shudder’s the bomb, but Tubi has a pretty great horror library…and it’s free!

HBO Max has some classic horror, and I can back up the Tubi suggestion; tons of great horror on there, though you kind of have to sift through stuff to find the gems, and there are ads.

Anyone seen Halloween Kills yet? Saw it last night and thought it was good, if a little half baked. Definitely satisfying for fans of Michael Myers though.

I'm seeing it this Sunday. Was 2018's better?

2018 Halloween felt like a true return to form. Halloween Kills is much darker and more modern in its sensibilities. Any fan of slasher movies is going to enjoy this one but the themes are a little weaker. Still a great time though.

HALLOWEEN KILLS is easily one of the worst movies I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching. What a turd.

I only know about that because of YourMovieSucks's review of it. From a production perspective it's an absolute cluster. But it does seem to be genuinely disturbing.

I can't believe how much worst Halloween Kills was from the last film

To be fair I liked how some of the film was filmed and some of the kills were good but my god....don't go to the theaters to see this film. Watch it on Peacock.

Well, that's not encouraging!

But if I survived RESURRECTION and the two Rob Zombie movies in the theater, I can make it through KILLS. It can't possibly be worse than those three!

It is very much so, which is why even with a little more time passing I still can’t recommend anyone watch it.

Also watched Halloween Kills last night on Peacock, I actually didn’t hate it, but, I still didn’t love it. There was one scene that I really hated, but, for the most part I didn’t think it was the worst Halloween movie I’ve seen in the franchise.
