IMHO, Iron Man would gel perfectly with the current state of Tomorrowland. While I know Iron Man isn't necessarily futuristic, it portrays a world which seems more advanced with technology than our own. The adventure and technology showcased in the movies are what Tomorrowland is now about. Stark Expo would be a great addition to DL.

God no, sorry, I should have elaborated more. IMO, Marvel doesn't have a place in any domestic Disney parks. Not because it's at islands, but because it just doesn't fit with DL. Marvel and Disneyland don't mix, but that's just my opinion.

Agreed.

@BriMan: I always hated the plan that Disney adopted to buy Marvel regardless of them honoring Universal's contract. I find it offensive, really, that they ended up buying Marvel because it was just as if they wanted to ridicule Universal.

Yes, Disney bought one of the most popular brands in the country that can make them billions of dollars, just to ridicule Universal's theme parks. Please. Some of these replies are just ridiculous.

I am all for Disney building Marvel rides, especially if it is rides like Iron Man that we haven't seen before. I do agree though with an earlier post where I don't quite seeing it fit in Disneyland. I couldn't picture going on Iron Man at MK. This is definitely something that is more Hollywood Studiosish, so I have no idea what that would translate into in California.

They should just legit go and make a Marvel park in CA.

I don't know how, but I'm getting word WDI has moved in backstage at Disney's Hollywood Studios in order to explore bringing whatever Marvel thing Disneyland is getting to DHS.

Well, WDI already has an office backstage at DHS.

This was taken from the Backstage Tour-

So do you mean they took over another production office or soundstage?

Possibly. Not sure on the exact details. Just know that a team has moved in to begin exploring Marvel at DHS.

Marvel at DHS COULD work, if done correctly, like leveling the Lights Motor Action show and doing something back there.

But isn't Iron Man part of the contract with IOA since they do have names and images of Iron Man at IOA.

Probably. But I don't think it would be hard for Disney/Uni to broker a deal to get the character.

I would assume that all of the secondary characters at MSHI are much smaller parts of the contract than Hulk or Spidey. It might end up saving Universal some money if they can get out of paying for Iron Man while at the same time maybe getting some kickback from Disney.

Exactly what I was thinking when my friend told me about this.

Now, remember this is solidly in the rumor category, so don't anyone get their hopes up or get their panties in a bunch just yet.

If this is truly the case, this is another copy cat attraction possibly. I wish they would push forward for the Monsters Inc Coaster FIRST before trying to develop anything else.

Meh. Personally I'm sick of Disney doing only cartoon rides. While the Monsters coaster would be cool, I'd much rather have an attraction for the over 10 crowd.

We have those in ToT, RRC, ST:TAC, and Indy. A cartoon theme with an adult ride is still great, but its just a matter of how they would execute IM at DHS, as a ride or a show?

The MI coaster would be far from an adult ride, unfortunately.

Why would Disney want to use Iron man in their park anyway? Not exactly the most Family Friendly character out there.

From Screamscape:

2013/2014 - Marvel Comics Attraction - Rumor - (6/14/11) Rumor has it that some early concept work for another new Marvel comic based attraction concept may be in the works for Disneyland… and it’s not Iron Man this time around. If I had to guess, Disney may be planning on covering all the bases and betting on an attraction themed to the upcoming Avengers film.
