As I said before, I did ride JPRA today. Some stuff seemed a little more freshly painted than usual but not much. It seemed like all of the dinosaurs were there and functioning correctly. All of the effects seemed to be working as well.

Sweet! I wish they'd consider giving the ride a HUGE refurb and taking advantage of new technology. This ride will eventually become outdated...not that it isn't immense and amazing already. It is still one of the most immersive rides I've ever went on.

I rode it yesterday and maybe 1/4 of the animatronics weren't working, needless to say I was dissapointed.

I was at IOA today and hadn't checked the forums in a few weeks so I was pleased to see it was open. It was the first time I've ridden JP in years so it was quite exciting. The ride is definately showing age in terms of excitement but overall things seemed to be kept up with. The only animatronic that I noticed wasn't working was the first one to the left after entering through the gates. It had been hidden behind fencing and bushes. By the looks of things it was in the repainting process.

I'm glad it got at least a little bit of attention.

Has this sign for Pizza Predattoria always worked. I've never seen it move (probably 'cause it's never open when I have been there) so I assumed it was a stationary sign. This video was posted today BTW.

I rode JPRA Sun. A week and a half ago and it was in awful shape. 2 of the Dinosaur's necks were broken. The velociraptor going up the lift hill's head was bent over sideways at a 90 degree angle. Really bad show. I hope they use that $20M to fix a lot of the problems.

I guess the earlier refurb wasn't extensive enough

It was mainly used to bring Tiff back to full working order more than likely. A more extensive rehab, easily for over a month or so is needed. The problem is with a lack of attractions, they really can't take too many e ticket rides down for a long time.

Sad to hear it's in a bad way again. The ride experience takes a knock when the dinos aren't functioning properly and/or looking like crap.

UOR has the oddest budgeting setup for a major theme park. The only place that they cannot pull this now is WW by contract. Disney has a different arrangement in that they pull any character from the show if it is terribly broken; either by turning off the lights that highlight it or removing it entirely if possible. Prior to WW I understood why UOR couldn't afford to fix things... now it is a bit curious that they have to 'announce' capital improvements instead of just improving things.

Does that mean they're gonna rename old attractions and hope people don't realize they didn't change anything but the name?

Sad to see JRA in such bad shape. In all honesty, it's my #2 favorite water ride of any park. Camp Jurrasic can use refurbishing too. My daughter can spend hours in there . It's not in horrible shape, but can use some touch-ups here and there.

Like most things at Universal & IoA.

They JUST gave this attraction a refurbishment... and now it's in this kind of condition? :inquisitive:

When I went late July, Tiff''s mouth was stuck open and the second velociraptors did not jump up. This ride does not seem to hold up very well at all.
