Not rumors. This situation is happening closer to home than I'd hope.
Currently only about 40 or so entertainment staff have been kept on. The rest of the workforce is planned to be replaced with third-party contractors, RWS Global to be exact. The entire Stage Management and Tech teams have been laid off, alongside about 85% of the performers.
Only barebones entertainment offerings within the hotel, park, and Peppa Pig Theme Park will be retained. They had already shut down the Ski Show they offered next to Cypress Gardens at the end of 2024, with no expectation of replacement anytime soon.
There is some talk that this could be effecting Legoland parks globally as well, alongside other positions and departments like Attractions or Merchandise. I haven't seen concrete evidence of this.
Regardless of the last point, this doesn't seem to be a Legoland FL decision, but a much higher Merlin decision. Seemingly for the pure reason of cost-cutting. Lots of people, including many many good friends of mine have been effected by this situation. It's incredibly unfortunate.
