I'm kind of confused...I've seen it stated in different places that the Volcano structure would be nearly 200 feet tall, and in other places I've seen 60 feet tall. If its only 60, that's not very tall. The 'mountain' at Typhoon Lagoon supposedly stands between 90-95 feet tall, and the 'mountain' at Blizzard Beach is roughly the same height.
At the same time, 200 feet tall seems too high. I think about 120 feet seems like a good height. Anyone have any insight?

I'm also curious how far away we may be from an announcement on this thing.

I would imagine it would be 199ft at most..you need a red blinky light at 200ft

Haha yes I realize that. I figured it would be close to- but not exactly 200....

I can't remember exactly, but twice I've heard it mentioned that the volcano would stand around 60 feet tall, with a base of 200 feet.

That one threw me for a loop.

The rumored plot of land has been cleaned up quite nicely.

You can dismiss this information right now. Many of the slides are taller than 60'. The volcano will dominate the landscape for quite the distance. As far as proportion, think of where the giant dragon lived in HTTYD. That is how it looks.

Holy crap that's insane!!!! How the hell they're gonna pull that off with that amount of space is beyond me. Can't wait until construction starts. I remember seeing IOA being constructed and just feeling mystery behind it all catching those little glimpses of what would soon be my favorite theme park. Can't believe all of that's gonna happen again!!!

I know someone else mentioned this, but can we seriously pool our $ for a drone? I'm in.

Pretty sure all you need to do is go in one of the Cabana Bay towers and snap some pictures ;)

The westbound entrance to I-4 from Kirkman Rd. provides a great view of the plot.

Aren't you not 18 yet? If IOA opened 15 years ago, you can remember construction as a toddler? Impressive.

Yeah I'm a youngin but I honestly remember theme parks at that age more than anything else. I remember seeing hulk being constructed while driving back from some sort of family gathering and my parents wondering what it was. I also remember the island preview center and seeing that cat in the hat was going to be a ride. Not very vivid I know but it's still an odd memory at the back of my brain

Thanks for clearing that up Teebin!

I hope we start getting something on this project soon...I've been getting so excited about it over the past year!

I've never seen HTTYD. Anyone have a screen cap of this scene so I could get a better mental image?

Put a red light on top. Put 5, I don't care :) A Hollywood hotel in 1939 is one thing, but I personally don't care if there's a light on top of a big-ass volcano.
