Yes, but that is the inside of it.

It would be great if the inside of the volcano looks similar to this though

I have looked at some pics on Google (haven't seen movie) and I can't tell exactly what Teebin was meaning.

Yeah, I was merely talking about the basic external shape. Below is the initial concept art for HTTYD 1. The actual movie's version looked a bit different, but the shape was the same.

Keep in mind too, I am not saying that this volcano will be an IP volcano. Of that, I have no idea.

(...however, I have heard there will be an icy cold design to one attraction attached to it...)

Oh, okay. Something like that would work quite well for a waterpark.

Soooo Disney is so desperate to keep the Frozen over-saturation going they are going to start licensing it to Universal too......

I'd assume you are referring to Ice Age, but that does bring up a valid thought, how long till they retheme blizzard beach to Frozen?

HTTYD is the abbreviation for the movie, How To Train Your Dragon.

An icy themed slide? That'd be cool. I was hoping regardless of the overall theme of the park that we would get different rides and slides telling different stories.

I was referring to your icy cold reference. I wasn't aware that there was an ice scene in the HTTYD movies.

You can dismiss this information right now. Many of the slides are taller than 60'. The volcano will dominate the landscape for quite the distance. As far as proportion, think of where the giant dragon lived in HTTYD. That is how it looks.

Well, it's confirmed folks. Teebin just said the whole water park will be themed to HTTYD. ;)

So the supposed timetable of this project is opening in 2017? Seeing as how they've pretty much cleared that site next to Cabana Bay, I would think vertical construction could start as early as the beginning of next year. What do you guys think? When do you think we'll get an official announcement?

You know what would be awesome, a body slide that goes in and out of the volcano made out of clear plastic!

I wouldn't think we'd see much for construction for another year at least. I can't see this taking more than 2 years to build, and we're just under 3 years away from summer 2017, which is when I'd assume (dangerous, I know) this will open.

As for an official announcement, knowing Universal, we'll get a tease in 1-2 years and then they'll spill the full can of beans 3 months before it opens.

So if Sapphire Falls is going next to Cabana Bay where is this mythical water park going to go?

South of Cabana Bay. There's a small plot of land still empty and just (barely) big enough for the new water park.

1. The water park is not a myth I assure you. I guarantee you even.

2. Cabana Bay is on a piece of land separated by Turkey Lake Rd. and Adventure way. The water park is going on the same plot of land as Cabana Bay at the far southern end. Sapphire is going on a completely separate piece of land on the other side of Adventure way and virtually next to the Royal Pacific.

That's a pretty small piece of land, but, I guess it can (and will) be done. Is the parking lot going to be on the same lot, or will they just shuttle people from the parking garage to the water park? It would allow more space for the actual water park.
