They have confirmed from today's podcast that going forward, Nightmare Fuel will be more an episodic anthology. The same concept you expect now from NF, but different stories.

This year's story sounds amazing:
Our 'hero' is attending this circus, where he has fallen in love with an aerialist, and we watch with him as she dies mid-performance. However, this is a twisted and cursed circus, and he is now trapped in an endless loop, forced to watch her die over and over again, until he finds a way to save her.

They wanted to tell a beautiful yet dark love story, and I think this is gonna be incredible.

This is definitely the route they need to take. I was starting to get tired of (basically) the same show happening every year. Was it impressive? Yes. Are the performers talented? Absolutely! But I need something else to really pull me in. Having a different story is going to do that, for me at least.

Just based on the story, I'll definitely be making a stop at the show this year to check it out.

The show was great, as always. The circus theming makes this feel much more distinct and like its own thing.

My only disappointment is it feels like they kinda wasted the potential of the story. Especially with the ending revelation, it doesn't really feel like our hero is aware that he's in a loop, if this is the exact same choice he's made every time to try and save her. Unless it's a Deathloop situation, where he's aware that he's in a loop, but can't quite recall the details of each cycle?

So I'm guessing since this year is an entirely different story, there aren't any reused songs from that the last 3ys.

And do we still get The Black Parade right before the show starts?

It’s my annual post where I ask if there’s any pyrotechnics/explosions and when I should prep myself for them.

Thanks in advance!

Completely different story. Even the vibe (while still sexy dancing) feels different with the circus aesthetic, they did a great job making it feel very distinct from the past iterations.

Two at the end, one for the spike trick, and of course an explosion for the ending of the show.

So I was trying to wait for when I go to HHN next week to watch this show in person, but I caved and watched someone's recording on YouTube.

I'm still trying to reserve judgement until I see it in person, but I'm not quite sure how I feel about this years show. It's definitely different, but I wouldn't say it's better than the last 3 shows. As a big fan of the last 3 Nightmare Fuel shows, I'm kinda disappointed with Nocturnal Circus. Maybe it just has to grow on me?

I did the same thing as you! I thought last year's show was the best of the 3 iterations, even with it using a lot of the same elements as the first two years. I still listen to the soundtrack from it from time to time.

Watched Nocturnal Circus this morning via YouTube and it felt a little..slower? Then went on with my day, and thought to myself, I must've missed some stuff. So I took another watch just now, and it grew on me.

The acts during 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' and 'Drop Dead Cynical' were both pretty solid, but I think the one that's gonna be a crowd favorite will be 'Letal Woman'. The lap dance and high heels felt like this years version of the leash walkout from the original 3 shows. Gonna be a lot of hootin' and hollerin'

Excited to see how this show grows, and hopefully it's as awesome in-person as the internet has been claiming it to be!

from the very beginning of this show coming to hhn, i have been one of its biggest defenders.
every year i have strongly defended and rooted for this show, last year it was my favorite and last year was the hottest one.
every year i repeat it every week.

the one this year seems very cute, very cute and nice. and they look really pretty as clowns, and the stage looks really incredible, (best stage out of all of them) but it feels like its missing the raw grittiness and edginess of years before, it feels more artistic,
but im not sure if i would repeat it more than twice.
the new set pieces are cool, but for me it finally feels a little stale
