I don't think it matters. I think people will visit DAK's biggest expansion ever and it's first true new attraction in 10 years in droves.

Very good point, I'm excited to see how it'll all turn out. Even though universal is pushing out two attractions I could seriously care less about, it's gonna be an exciting year for sure

Exactly. Universal gets a big push from word-of-mouth and we'll have to see what the reaction to two more screen-based attractions in the park gets them. Avatar will win this round.

I'd be surprised if sometime around Pandora's opening and before Avatar 2 if Avatar isn't re-released into theatres as well.

I think he simply means Avatar will win 2017. Universal has a lot in 2017, but the park rides are mostly filler and while VB will likely be great, it's still a water park.

actually id say its kinda even the two avatar rides while they look good prob wont be anything spectacular just a slow moving boat ride and a sorin 2.0 and its not 2017 yet universal could announce another ride to open that year

LOL you are fooling yourself if you think uni will announce another ride for 2017. Construction would have to begin ASAP. Avatar will be the clear winner because it is a whole land. Also I think you all are underestimating soaring 2.0. If Disneyhead is positive on it, I think it is going to be good. Who cares what the tech of the ride is. It is the entire final product that counts. The story told, the other components, etc. Personal I wish Uni would create a good slow dark ride (hoping Slop will be this) and a good slow moving boat ride. Those rides can be amazing and something people want to ride every time they go. Perfect examples are haunted mansion and PotC.

I think UNIrd is rolling with that "imaginary and downright silly theme park war" on what's the better attraction or something.

Yes, because I'm the only one who compares the parks and their offerings, or ranks or rates the attractions, or even awards some above others. That UNIrd's shameless.

Nothin' wrong with you or anyone comparing things, rank/rating attractions. But it just get's silly when things are treated like this is some kind of fight/war between theme parks.

Eh, it's not a war between the parks but there ultimately is a fight for the days in Orlando and the dollars that come with it, which is what I was referencing.

I think if volcano bay wasn't coming out in 2017, we'd all beat universal like a punching bag for two really uninteresting screen rides that'll most likely suck. 2 rides of quality plus a land compared to two meh rides and a waterpark. Again gonna be a very interesting year

I can't agree with you guys on this. The tourists will flock to F&F, Falone & Volcano Bay. That combination will bring in as much of a raw attendance increase for Universal as Pandora does for Disney. And I'm counting on Pandora doing a much better attendance percentage increase than New Fantasy Land, which didn't do real strong percentage increase numbers..... We're a lot tougher on new attraction expectations than the general public. As I said before, both Disney & Universal will do great business in 2017, and they'll both feed off of the increased Orlando tourist traffic. No doubt.

I don't think that poster could understand the business side to that. Growing up here, I think of it as a war. Disney and Universal and conservative people of fun will never admit that, but when it comes to money, that is exactly what it is. And quite frankly, we as fans, benefit from a fight rather than a handshake..... if you get my drift.

I think Pandora will do an overall better job for it's park, but if you are talking resort wide attendance increases... well no doubt Universal will have the bigger increase. They have a smaller amount of guests currently attending per year, so even if they increase by the same number that WDW does, the % of increase is ultimately higher.

I believe that with the GP, F&F will be a bigger draw than Avatar.

And I find it interesting how we have all already decided that Soarin' 2.0, the slow boat ride, F&F, and Fallon will all suck.

Funny, I've never said that Fallon would suck. Although, I have some possible issues with F&F as I think Soarin 2.0 and the Boat ride may..not go so well..

I don't think any of them will suck. I think fallen will be a little too similar tech wise to DM and since I don't watch his show the IP does not appeal to me. But I think in the end it will be an OK ride. I think FF could have used a different tech for that IP. Whether you watch the movie or not fast cars is always a popular IP so I think this one will do the best of the two.

I love slow boat rides to be honest with you. My while family does. So I am most excited about Pandora's slow boat ride. Soaring 2.0 I am reserving judgement until after I ride it. Some of what I heard years ago about this intrigued me, but not sure how much of that concept has changed. I feel it could be way better than soarin, but don't know. I love soarin as do many many people. So this could be a really popular ride for years.

It's amazing the conclusions people jump to before really knowing much of anything about any of those rides publicly.
